Heading down to the Visayas region, Boracay is the top beach destination and is arguably the country's most famous beach hub.
The island underwent rehabilitation to clean it up in 2018 and reopened later that year, albeit with stricter regulations on enviroment sustainability.
It may no longer be the party destination it used to be known, but it remains as one of the best places for family or barkada getaways.
International magazines Travel + Leisure and Conde Nast Traveller have named Boracay as one of the favorite destinations of tourists for the longest time.
The cebu islands
The Philippines continues to take a spot on the world's best islands lists, thanks to three destinations: Palawan, Boracay, and the Cebu Islands.
In 2019, Travel + Leisure placed Cebu on the seventh spot of the World's Best Asian Islands.
Conde Nast Traveller also named Cebu as the second best island in Asia in 2019.
Cebu draws around two million tourists a year, says Lonely Planet, particularly for its white-sand beaches and diving spots.
Malapascua Island is one of the go-to diving spots in Cebu.

Heading over to Bohol, celebrities often book their vacations at The Bellevue Resort in Panglao.
