Honor Thy Father congressional probe set on January 11

APPEAL OF SUPPORT.

Ayon sa Facebook post ni Alvin Anson: "TO ALL OUR FELLOW FILMMAKERS, COLLEAGUES, BROTHERS & SISTERS IN THE FILM INDUSTRY, THIS IS FROM OUR COOL DIRECTOR Erik Matti , PLEASE KINDLY READ & SHARE! SEE U GUYS AT THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, MONDAY, JANUARY 11 at 1PM. TY IN ADVANCE FOR THE SUPPORT! GOD BLESS US ALL & OUR FILM INDUSTRY!

"Hi everyone! I would like to invite all of you to attend the Congressional hearing regarding the disqualification of Honor Thy Father at the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival 2015.

"This is not about Honor Thy Father. The hearing is actually about our film industry. This is about affecting change in the long running disappointment regarding the yearly MMFF event. And hopefully the outcome of this trickles down beyond the festival and into the entire film industry.

"To those who care to do something about the MMFF, I urge your presence to show your support.

"To those who are cynical that nothing good will come out of this or too scared to put their work, loyalties and allegiances on the line, I will try to understand and will not judge you harshly and I still wish that you'd attend even if you wear a mask to hide your identity.

"We have always wanted to find an avenue to air our grievances about the anomalies in the festival, the unfair distribution practices in theater bookings and the abuse of power by the handful who presume we are too dumb and too terrified to speak up. I think this is our opportunity.

"Whether or not something will come out of this is beside the point. I think it is enough that this time we will be heard."
