After months of hiatus, South Korean comedienne Park Mi Sun finally met the public again and opened up about her battle with breast cancer.
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Park appeared on tvN’s You Quiz on the Block, where she talked for the first time about her illness with hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho.
Park Mi Sun halted all activities in January 2025 after experiencing health problems.
At the time, her talent agency Cube Entertainment released a statement saying that their artist needed a period of rest.
Rumors later spread that Park had been diagnosed with breast cancer, but her agency declined to comment, saying they could not disclose personal medical information.

In her guest appearance on You Quiz on the Block, Park Mi Sun personally confirmed for the first time that she has been fighting breast cancer.
Appearing with a short-cropped hairstyle, Park Mi Sun said (as translated by allkppo.com), “I think many people will be surprised to see me like this. I gathered my courage to come here.”
She added with a smile, “There were so many fake news stories going around that I came out to report that I’m alive,” eliciting laughter from the hosts.

Park Mi Sun on Her Breast Cancer Diagnosis
In the said episode, Park Mi Sun recalled the moment she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

When Yoo Jae Suk asked how she felt upon receiving the news, Park Mi Sun admitted, “It didn’t feel real. Even now, my energy hasn’t completely come back.”
She continued: “I have a type of breast cancer where the words 'complete recovery' cannot be used.
"I was hospitalized for pneumonia and received antibiotics for two weeks.
"We didn’t know the cause, and my face swelled up. The treatment was meant to save my life, but I felt like I was almost dying.”

Despite the struggles, Park Mi Sun said she was able to overcome the illness with her trademark positivity and the support of those who truly loved her.
“I was grateful for being sick in winter and receiving treatment in a cool place during summer,” she shared.
“With this mindset, the entire treatment process became quite bearable.
"So many people worried and cared for me. Only after getting sick did I realize how much love I’ve received."
Park Mi Sun Admits Fears of Returning to Public Eye
Park Mi Sun also admitted she felt nervous appearing on a show for the first time in almost ten months.
After the episode aired, she took to Instagram to share a photo with Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho, writing: “I thought about it a lot—whether I should go on or not, whether I should wear a wig or not.
"But since so many people were worried and curious, I decided to gather up my courage and do the show.
"It’s my one and only schedule this year.”
She added, “I talked about various things on today’s episode of You Quiz, but since it’s been a while since I did a broadcast, I was a little nervous.
"Anyway, thank you to everyone who’s been concerned for me."
