The pageant community is mourning the death of Venezuelan titleholder Cristhian Anibal Teixeira Bazan, who reportedly died following the recent earthquakes that struck Venezuela. He was 19 years old.
Cristhian held the title of Mister Teen Turismo La Guaira 2026.
Several pageant organizations announced his passing through social media, paying tribute to the young titleholder and extending their condolences to his family, friends, and the pageant community.
According to the organizations' statements, Cristhian's body was recovered from the collapsed Arichuna Residences in Los Corales.
Some reports also claimed that he had been visiting a friend at the residential building when the earthquake struck.
"Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and the entire pageant community. May his soul rest in eternal peace," a tribute by the Philippines Pageant Update page read.
As of this writing, authorities have yet to release additional official information regarding the circumstances surrounding Cristhian's death.

TWIN EARTHQUAKES DEVASTATE VENEZUELA
Cristhian's reported death comes in the wake of the powerful twin earthquakes that struck northern Venezuela on Wednesday, June 24.
According to international reports, the country was hit by back-to-back earthquakes measuring magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 less than a minute apart, making them among the strongest to hit Venezuela in more than a century.
The coastal state of La Guaira, where Cristhian held his pageant title, was among the hardest-hit areas as numerous residential buildings collapsed and thousands of residents were displaced. Rescue teams have continued searching through the rubble as authorities warn that the number of casualties may still rise.
Reuters previously reported that the death toll from the twin earthquakes had reached at least 589 as of Friday, June 26, as foreign rescue teams continued searching for survivors beneath collapsed buildings.
Authorities warned that the number could still rise as many people remained missing.
Meanwhile, The Guardian's most recent report state that the death toll had climbed to at least 920.
