Liza Soberano's clarification about her controversial vlog: "I'm very grateful to my experience... I was so grateful for that kasi I was able to do things at such a young age that I would not have been able to do if not for this job, if not for ABS-CBN, if not for Tito Ogie, if not for Quen. Pero I just needed to state that I didn't get to become or discover myself on my own terms..."

"For me, I was just stating facts. Everything that I broke down, I was breaking down the journey and so people understand what point I am at in my life right now.

"I was literally just saying that I started as a child, so hindi ako nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na mag-grow into myself as an adult.

"I didn't get to experience things that normal kids get to experience because I started at an early age."

Ayon kay Liza, "But I'm sure a lot of people can relate, maraming bata ang napilitan magtrabaho nang maaga para maging breadwinner sa mga pamilya nila.

"And that's what exactly what happened with me.

"Hindi ko pangarap mag-artista, I had to be an artista para mapag-aral ang sarili ko, para mapag-aral ko kapatid ko, para mabuhay ko yung family ko.

"I think that's one thing na hindi alam ng maraming tao.

"I think that they assumed na gusto ko maging artista ever since I was a kid, which is not true.

NOOD KA MUNA!

"Kasi it came from me, a necessity. I needed to make money for my family."

"That's hard to answer. There's a little back story to this.

"Nung 10 po ako, that's when I first came to the Philippines, may lumapit na po sa akin para mag-Goin' Bulilit.

"And me and my dad John, the one that lives here in the Philippines, we had a big fight kasi ayoko.

"I was a very shy girl, I was very boyish, didn't know how to speak Tagalog.

"Pero nagtagal po ako dito dahil nagkasakit yung lolo ko sa States, the ones that I call Mommy and Daddy, my parents.

"And hindi po nila ma-afford na ibalik kami ng kapatid ko sa States, and so I was forced to work because I wanted to go back to the States."

"Yes, I agreed to everything that was happening because yun ang nakakabuti sa akin.

"And this is not about what's right and what's wrong. It's just I didn't get to grow up normally like other people," saad ni Liza.

Sabay diin din niya: "And I'm not complaining. I'm very grateful to my experience.

"Dahil diyan napag-aral ko ang sarili ko. Dahil diyan nakatapos ako ng high school.

"Dahil diyan nakabili ako ng bahay para sa family ko, here in the Philippines and for my grandparents living in the States.

"I was so grateful for that kasi I was able to do things at such a young age that I would not have been able to do if not for this job, if not for ABS-CBN, if not for Tito Ogie, if not for Quen.

"Pero I just needed to state that I didn't get to become or discover myself on my own terms.

"I had to do it with the whole country looking at me and other people telling me what was good for me and what was not good for me."

ON backstabbing from select colleagues

Saad ni Liza, "And so, ever since after that, parang I felt I didn't have the right to bring this up kasi feeling ko nao-offend ko yung mga tao sa paligid ko, which is not my intention.

"Which I thought, as actor, that is also my job to do. To question, to help improve the story, to help be collaborative."

I did not know anything else beyond that.

"Ang iniisip ko, 'Maybe ako yung rude for questioning the creatives' decisions.'"

Aminado siyang naging balakid noon ang pagiging "people pleaser" niya kaya hindi iyon nasolusyunan.

"Takot ako makaapak ng tao. I don't like disappointing people. I don't like creating enemies.

"I'm a people pleaser so hindi ko kaya pag people feel bad or have bad feelings towards me."

ON HER LOVETEAM WITH ENRIQUE GIL

Sabi niya patungkol sa kanyang vlog: "It was an enumeration. I wasn't complaining.

"Kasi I felt like they were forgetting, especially the Liza, LizQuen fans, they were complaining that there is no more LizQuen.

"I totally understand that, they wanna see us together and everything, I totally understand that, and I felt for them.

"So I felt the need to explain myself why I wanna change because I wanted to grow.

"And I felt that I needed to enumerate everything for them to better understand that, 'Hey, I did do all of these. We did do all of these.'

"ABS and LizQuen. Quen and I gave this to you, guys. We put in a lot of hard work so that we could build this love team that you guys all fell in love with.

"But now, it's time for me to grow as an individual."

ON FREEDOM FROM HER FEARS

I loved all the directors that I worked with.

"And for a time, yun lang yung gusto ko. So this was all before 2019, when I had that change in my mind.

"I only wanted to be in a love team. I only wanted to work alongside Quen. I only wanted to work with these three directors that I am enumerating.

"I only wanted to work with these creatives because they were the reason — in my mind and what everybody thinks of me — they are the reason for my success.

"That's exactly what I thought. That's exactly how I felt.

"I was scared to go beyond that because kung paghihiwalayin kami ni Quen, kung hindi na kami love team, di na ako successful.

"And I think, looking back, that mindset that I had, that notion that I had was wrong.

"Yes, magagaling silang director, yes napasikat nila ako, yes they made my movies, my TV films successful.

"But hindi ibig sabihin nun that other directors aren't capable of doing that. They just need the opportunity."
