Leila Alcasid has nothing but gratitude for her dad Ogie Alcasid.
“We’re really good now,” she tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) as a reaction to her Ogie's recent interview with PEP Troika where he got real about how he felt when Leila decided to live in with her boyfriend Mito Fabie, a.k.a. Curtismith.
The songwriter revealed his convo with Leila, "I said, 'You know, I didn't like what you did. Because that's something that I wished you talk to me about.’
"However, nandiyan na iyan, e, ginawa niya na iyan. So you want to be an adult, so you face that like as an adult.
"And I'm proud that she didn't ask money from me at all."

In an exclusive interview during the launch of LazBeauty's Dream Lounge x LazAffiliates, Leila refers to what happened as “a little bit of misunderstanding,” which has long been resolved.
She says, “I mean, he has every right to feel the way he feels.
“And we talked about it, and there was definitely a little bit of misunderstanding way back then.
“But what I really appreciate about my dad is he understands me.
“He respects decision, my autonomy as a person, as an adult.
“And every thing is much better now.”
How’s the relationship of Ogie and Mito?
She replies, “I mean, he's super close with my boyfriend.
“Mito has traveled with us.
“And so, yeah, I think, you know, it's definitely difficult for parents when these big life transitions happen.
“But he has adjusted really, really well.
“And I'm really grateful that he, you know, treats me like an adult and really respects my decisions.
“So I'm very grateful to him.”
Leila and Mito's Relationship: Keeping it Low-Key
Fans would sporadically see Leila and Mito’s photos on their social-media accounts.
She would pen sweet messages for her beau on special occasions.
But there’s a conscious effort for the daughter of Ogie with former beauty queen Michelle van Eimeren not to overly publicize their relationship.
“I think it's just easier to be that way. Like we'll share little snippets of our relationship every now and then.
“But I think there's something special about being a little bit private and keeping some things to yourself.
“I honestly think that's why we've been together for this long and have a really healthy relationship.”

Leila and Mito’s Marriage Plans
In the PEP Troika article, Ogie was asked, "Is he ready in case Leila, who is now 25 years old, and Mito, who is 29 years old, decide to get married?"
He quipped, “In my mind, yes, but in my heart, no. Ang corny, 'no?
“Yes. I've pretty much accepted that we're gonna hit on that road sooner or later…”
But wedding does not seem to be on the horizon yet for Leila.
“I take things as they happen. What matters now is I’m very happy. It has been good.
“And I’m actually celebrating my 5th year anniversary with my boyfriend next week, so it's gonna be a lot of fun.”
Similarly, in an interview with ABS-CBN in February 2023, Mito’s answer was, “I’m still taking my time,” when asked about taking his relationship with Leila to the next level.
There's no doubt about Leila being "the one" for the musician, but his goal for now is “to make enough money.”

It was in the same interview that Mito revealed his live-in set-up with Leila.
“Both Leila and I decided on that and we really wanted to be together. For sure it wasn’t okay with Tito Ogie when it happened, because it was so sudden during the pandemic. But that was how things turned out.
“Good thing Tito Ogie was open-minded enough to sit down and talk to me to hear the reason we decided to do so.”
“What’s interesting about being in the Philippines, it’s a very different type of mentality. Somewhere in the middle of this pandemic, that was when Leila and I decided to live together.”
Mito is the son of the late Miguel Fabie III, an award-winning cinematographer, and Carla Sibal, former editor-in-chief of Mega magazine.
