Sparkle is ready to conquer the world, starting with Canada!

This April, the stars of Sparkle GMA Artist Center are going on their first-ever world tour, and Canada is their first stop.

Directed by the legendary Johnny Manahan, known affectionately as Mr. M, Sparkle Goes to Canada promises unforgettable performances from some of the Philippines' brightest stars.

Sparkle Goes to Canada is a collaborative production effort between Sparkle GMA Artist Center, GMA Pinoy TV, and Berce Enterprises.

SHOW DATES

Sparkle Goes to Canada has two show dates, kicking off on April 5, 2024, at Southview Alliance Church, Calgary.

The second show is set to take place at Toronto Pavilion in Toronto on April 7, 2024.

These back-to-back shows are a rare opportunity for fans in Canada to experience the magic of Sparkle's best, live.

The Stars of the Show

Get ready to be dazzled by Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz, a.k.a. JulieVer; David Licauco, and Barbie Forteza, a.k.a. BarDa; Bianca Umali and Ruru Madrid, a.k.a. RuCa.

Each pair brings its unique flair and talent to the stage, offering a diverse entertainment experience.

A Dose of Kilig with Barbie and David

Also affectionately referred to by fans as the BarDa love team, the duo is expected to bring their on-screen chemistry to the stage while offering a sneak peek into their upcoming prime-time show Pulang Araw (2024).

Aside from this upcoming TV series, Barbie and David also previously starred in series like Maria Clara at Ibarra (2022) and the TV version of Maging Sino Ka Man (2023).

The former is inspired by José Rizal's classic novels while reimagining historical narratives with contemporary themes. The show portrays themes that blend love, injustice, and freedom, among other relevant societal issues in the country.

On the other hand, the latter is about a famous singer who ran away from home and eventually meets a thief.

The TV series is based on the 1991 film starring Sharon Cuneta as Monique Romero/Digna and Robin Padilla as Carding Ermita.

Showstopping Performances by Bianca and Ruru

Known for their dynamic presence, Bianca and Ruru are ready to captivate the audience with their performances.

The real-life couple got to work together as on-screen partners in The Write One (2023), their first-ever project .

The TV series is about Liam (Ruru Madrid), an aspiring television writer, and Joyce (Bianca Umali), a budding starlet who had to give up her dreams to be with her husband.

This show marked the first time that GMA Network collaborated with Viu, a video streaming service provider.

Experience the blend of voices and vibes that only Asia’s Limitless Star and the Asawa ng Asawa Ko (2024) star can deliver.

Julie Anne and Rayver first worked together as co-hosts in all four seasons of The Clash (2019). This is a TV reality show that pits singers from different parts of the country against each other in a survival-style contest.

Their first movie together is The Cheating Game (2023), which tells the story of two completely opposite people, Hope (Julie Anne San Jose) and Miguel (Rayver Cruz).

Boobay is a well-known Filipino comedian, actor, and television host, whose real name is Norman Balbuena.

One of his earliest showbiz stints was being a co-host in the Filipino-dubbed version of the TV game show Takeshi's Castle (2007). Japan's version initially aired in 1986.

Aside from this, Boobay also took part in AlDub's Kalyeserye (2015) as Yaya Pak, one of the applicants to be Lola Nidora's (Wally Bayola) new aide.

It was also in 2015 when Boobay voiced Fulgoso in that year's MariMar remake, starring Megan Young and Tom Rodriguez.
