Nangako si Senator Bong Revilla Jr. na gagampanan muli niya sa pelikula ang karakter ng panday na si Flavio na nilikha ni Carlo J. Caparas.
“I’ll do another Panday movie. Of course, with the permission of the family!” bulalas ni Bong sa lamay ni Direk Carlo J. noong Mayo 27, 2024, Lunes, sa Golden Haven, C5 Extension, Las Piñas City.

Nang mga sandaling iyon ay napapagitnaan si Bong ng maybahay niyang si Congresswoman Lani Mercado at ng daughter ni Direk Carlo na si Peach Caparas.
Nakaupo si Bong sa tapat ng urn na naglalaman ng cremains ni Direk Carlo. Naka-display sa gilid niyon ang replica ng espada ni Flavio.
Bago umalis sina Bong at Lani, kinuha ni Bong ang espada at iwinasiwas.

CARLO J. CAPARAS'S SON ON BONG'S PROMISE
Pagkaalis ni Bong ay nakausap ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang son ni Direk Carlo na si CJ Caparas.
Ano ang masasabi ni CJ sa pangako ni Bong na gagawa muli ito ng Panday movie?
“What an honor! Di ba, si Senator Bong, manunumbalik and this is the fourth iteration if ever!” sambit ni CJ.
Ang unang Panday movie ni Bong ay Dugo ng Panday (Enero 4, 1993) na idinirek nina Peque Gallaga at Lore Reyes.
Sumunod ay Ang Panday (MMFF 2009) sa direksiyon nina Rico Gutierrez at Mac Alejandre.
Pangatlo ay Ang Panday 2 (MMFF 2011) sa direksiyon ni Mac Alejandre.

Dagdag ni CJ, “So, meron siya nung 90s, 2000s, and 2010s. So if ever, magkakaroon pa ng 2020s. That’s four decades ng Panday.”
Isang taong magpapagaling si Bong sa napunit niyang Achilles tendon, kaya hindi pa niya mauumpisahan ang shooting ng ikaapat niyang Panday movie.

CARLO J. CAPARAS: ANG TUNAY NA PANDAY
Mula 1969s hanggang 1980s, mahigit 800 nobela at maikling kuwento sa komiks ang isinulat ni Carlo J. Caparas.
Maliban sa panday na si Flavio, kabilang sa mga karakter na nilikha niya sina Bakekang, Joaquin Bordado, Totoy Bato, Elias Paniki, Gagambino, at Tasya Fantasya.
Bakit bukod-tanging ang espada ni Flavio ang naka-display sa lamay ni Direk Carlo J?
“Because for a long time po, we always look for the identity of Panday,” tugon ni CJ.
“It was FPJ [Fernando Poe Jr.] for a time. For a long time. Tapos we came to a point na naging si Senator Bong Revilla naman.
“Tapos naging si Jericho Rosales, and again si Senator Bong na naman, and naging Coco Martin pa, naging Richard Gutierrez pa.
“But ultimately po, as I’ve finally come to know… in the end, he himself was Panday.
“Kaya nandiyan po ang espada. Kasi we are laying it down to rest with him.”
Isasama sa hukay?
“Because siya po ang tunay na Panday.”

WHO IS CARLO J. CAPARAS?
For the record, ilang magkakapatid sina CJ?
“Seven po. Dalawa po kami ni Peach kay Mommy,” sagot ni CJ, na ang tinutukoy na "mommy" ay ang actress-producer na si Donna Villa na pumanaw noong Enero 2017.

Kumusta ang relasyon nilang magkakapatid?
“We are intact. We are whole. And of course, we are always working on our relationship,” saad ni CJ.
“For dad’s honor, and in his memory. And we will continue to do so for as long as we live because that is how we will live out his legacy.”
Noong paslit siya, paano niya na-realize na ang kanyang ama ay isang Carlo J. Caparas na larger than life?
“Mula bata po kasi ako, nalaman kong Carlo J. Caparas siya because… not because of the people that surrounded him,” pagsisiwalat ni CJ.
“But because of who he was. Kahit na maraming tao, talagang yung loyalty niya, where his loyalty and priorities lie, that really spoke volumes about his character and the man he was.
“So ako po, as a young kid, padedehin niya ako, dun sa film set. ‘Action!’ ‘Cut!’ I was four. We have pictures of those.
“Siya po ang nagpapadede sa akin, and while he was working. So Carlo J. Caparas was that man for me.
“It wasn’t the larger than life figure that we speak of. It’s the figure that I knew at home. More than the figure outside.”
CARLO J. CAPARAS AS A FATHER
Naging disciplinarian ba si Direk Carlo J? Naging istrikto?
“Oh yes. As any parent would po, istrikto siya on the set, off the set. And ibang strictness lang sa bahay, iba dun sa set,” pagtatapat ni CJ.
“Kasi siyempre, he wanted us to learn na… larger than life, uyy, we are secured. We have everything we could ever want, but you will never have it the easy way.
“Because that is not how we will raise your character. You need faith in the Lord. You need integrity.
“And also you need to learn the true meaning of love. Natutunan ko po yun, just for the record, yung meaning of love, in how he loves his work and the people around him.”
May pagkakataon bang nagtampo siya noon sa ama dahil sa kabisihan nito? Hindi niya ito naintindihan noon?
Tumango si CJ, “Yes po, in fact. Pero alam niyo po ang naging response ng daddy ko? ‘Kung nakakasagabal ang trabaho dito sa relationship natin as you know, a parent and child, then I will find a way to reconcile that by just taking you to work.’
“So nag-home study po kami. He did not let that get in the way of our relationship. “Love pa rin yung nangibabaw.”
DONNA VILLA'S DEATH
Lima na ang mga anak ni CJ.
“Opo, lima na ang mga apo ni daddy sa akin. And he was very much happy with them,” pagngiti ni CJ.
“So ngayon po, tina-try ko lang to get my feet on the ground in terms of the industry. Makabalik. Para kay Daddy.”
Nag-lie low sa showbiz si Direk Carlo J nang pumanaw ang katuwang na si Donna. Dinamdam niya nang lubos.

Pahayag ni CJ, “Lahat po kami. Actually mom’s loss, Donna Villa’s loss was felt throughout the industry, especially my dad.
“Kasi siyempre, partner niya yun. Dynamic duo sila. One, two, punch. Mega-Couple, yeah, producer and director, Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao, yun po yun.
“So, the fact na the other half has departed, talagang manghihina po talaga.
“And it was evident naman talaga na na-miss siya ni daddy more than anyone else really. “And not just because of the industry. Because of life in general.”
CARLO J. CAPARAS DURING THE PANDEMIC
Naging creative pa rin si Direk Carlo noong kasagsagan ng pandemya. May mga nabuo siyang bagong kuwento.
Sinabihan ba nila ito na maghinay-hinay? O hinayaan na ibuhos pa rin sa trabaho ang panahon upang maibsan ang dinaramdam?
“Actually alam din naman niya sa sarili niya na it was time to slow down for himself,” lahad ni CJ.
“In fact, that was the reason na nag-Cebu muna siya, because he wanted to be closer to my mom.
“Tapos naging comfortable na po siya dun. And dun na rin niya ibinilin at ipinaubaya sa aming magkakapatid na yung mga legacy niya, kami na ang magpatuloy.”
Sa Mactan, Cebu ang huling hantungan ni Tita Donna. Doon din ba ang himlayan ni Direk Carlo at ng espada ni Flavio?
“We are yet to discuss as a family yung mga mangyayari sa kanya, and that remains undisclosed as of now,” wika ni CJ.
“Because even us po, we are in the process of really... ina-absorb pa po namin itong grief namin ngayon.”
