While many are celebrating their dads and father figures on Father’s Day, others are grappling with grief.
On Sunday, June 16, 2024, veteran actress Chanda Romero confirmed the passing of her brother, Francis “Tommy” Romero.
At press time, the date and cause of his death remain undisclosed to the public.
In an Instagram post, Chanda expressed her sentiments, saying (published as is), “Rest in God's loving arms now, my dear brother [emojis].
“You will always be in our hearts. [Emoji] Love you forever [emoji].”
The memorial service will happen from June 16 to 20, 2024, at the Cebu Rolling Hills Memorial Chapel on A.S. Fortuna Street in Mandaue City, Cebu.

Chanda’s followers expressed deep sadness upon learning of her brother’s death.
Notable actresses Coney Reyes, Susan Africa, and Jean Garcia were among those who extended their sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family.
“My condolences, dear Chanda [emoji],” Coney wrote.
“Hugs my dear friend [emojis],” Susan added.
“Condolence po Ms Chands, mahigpit na yakap po,” Jean’s heartfelt comment reads.

Tina Paner, Benjamin Alves, and Ashley Sarmiento also left their messages of support.
CHANDA ROMERO LOST MOM TO COVID-19
Over three years ago, Chanda bid farewell to her mother, Remedios “Meding” Romero, who tragically lost her battle to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Nanay Meding took her last breath at Cebu Doctors University Hospital in Cebu City on June 30, 2020.
Two weeks prior to Nanay Meding’s passing, Chanda appealed for plasma donations for her mom, who had tested positive for COVID-19.
In a poignant Instagram post on July 3, 2020, the 70-year-old actress shared an old photo of her mom, accompanied by the caption, “Go with God now, Mom.
“Till we meet again. He loves you so very much [heart sign].”
