Pumanaw si Ricky matapos ang pakikipaglaban sa cancer noong May 1, 2025.

Noong Martes, May 6, sa huling gabi ng lamay para kay Ricky, isa-isang nagbigay ng eulogy ang kanyang pamilya at malalapit na kaibigan.
Kabilang sa naatasang magsalita ay si Rikki Mae, ang pangalawa sa tatlong anak ni Ricky sa estranged wife nitong si Jackie Lou Blanco.

RICKY'S FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES
Paglalarawan ni Rikki Mae, mabait, mapagmahal, at palakaibigan ang kanyang yumaong ama.
Kaya naman hanggang sa huling mga sandali nito ay sinamahan at dinamayan siya ng mga itinuring niyang tunay na kaibigan.
Ramdam daw ng kanyang ama ang pagmamahal na natanggap mula sa mga ito.
Unang pinasalamatan ni Rikki Mae ang beteranong aktor na si Tirso Cruz III at misis nitong si Lynn Ynchausti-Cruz.
Pahayag ni Rikki Mae: "I need to take this opportunity to really say thank you because... so many people really help us and help our family...
"Tita Lynn and Tito Tirso, thank you so much, because they were the ones that were there the first day that dad was in the ICU.
"They visited us and they held our hands and we prayed.
"They prayed over Papa and they prayed with us in the waiting room because we did not know that it would be such a long fight.
"So, thank you."

Kabilang dito si Malou Choa-Fagar, ang dating president at CEO ng Television And Productions Exponents (TAPE), Inc.
Binanggit din ni Rikki Mae sina Anna Pingol, Allan Diones, at Cesar Evangelista na mga miyembro ng entertainment press.
Saad ni Rikki Mae: "To the Wednesday Club — Tita Malou, Anna, Allan, Tito Cesar, and I hope I know everybody's names because minsan iba-iba yung pumupunta sa room.
"But to the Wednesday Club, thank you, thank you so much.
"He loved hanging out with each of you. He loved eating the twice-cooked adobo.
"And every time that he would talk about his friends, kayo lagi yung bukambibig niya.
So, thank you, thank you so much.
"Tita Malou... Although she's fierce, you know, she's very fierce, I know how much she loved Papa.
"And all throughout, she has been really always checking on us, making sure that we're okay, making sure we have food.
"Pinapagalitan niya ako minsan na walang pagkain, but I know that's part of her love for us."
Miyembro rin ng Wednesday Club ang yumaong Regal matriarch na si Lily Monteverde, pati na ang anak nitong si Roselle Monteverde.

RICKY'S FRIENDS FROM POLITICS
May ilang politiko ring binanggit si Rikki Mae na tumulong sa kanila noong nakaratay pa sa ospital ang ama.
Pagtukoy ni Rikki Mae sa mag-asawang Senator Bong Revilla at Congresswoman Lani Mercado, "I just wanted to say thank you so much also for visiting, for all the help and support that you've provided our family."
Nagpasalamat din siya kina Senators Bong Go, Alan Peter Cayetano, Grace Poe, Lito Lapid, at Robin Padilla.
Special mention si Senator Jinggoy Estrada at misis nitong si Precy.
Ani Rikka Mae: "To the Estrada family, really thank you so much talaga for all throughout the months that we have been fighting. Thank you so much po for your guidance and for your help."
Dagdag pa niya: "To Tito Willie [Revillame], Tita Sylvia Sanchez, and to all of the Legends Group, naku, ang dami niyo, but they are legends for a reason.
"Thank you so much for visiting dad a week before we brought him home. Thank you for loving him.
"I know that there were times na hindi na kayo nagkikita as much kasi nagiging busy, but just know that he really valued each and every one of your friendship.
"My dad has a lot of friends pero you guys are really one of the ones that are close to his heart."
Hindi rin nakaligtaang banggitin ni Rikki Mae ang GMA-7, na naging tahanan ni Ricky bilang aktor at direktor.
Aniya, "Thank you so much to his GMA family. Thank you so much for always letting dad grab the mic and sing a song. That's the truth."
RIKKI MAE ON GUTIERREZ FAMILY
Matapos banggitin ang mga kaibigan at kasamahan sa industriya ni Ricky, pinasalamatan din ni Rikki Mae ang mga kaanak na umalalay at naging katuwang sa pag-aasikaso sa kanyang ama.
Sabi ni Rikki Mae: "To the Gutierrez family—that's Janine, Jessica, Max, Diego, and Tito Monching, and of course, Tita Lot [Lotlot de Leon].
"From Mamita's wake, na parang naging party planner... well, not party planner, event planner kami bigla for our lola's wake, na nadala kay Mama Guy, na nadala kay Papa.
"Sana last na ito, magre-retire na kami.
"But you know, seriously, thank you so much for all the help with the flowers, the food... lahat-lahat.
"It really takes a village to make all of this our celebration for dad. So. thank you to the Gutierrez family."
Ang "Mamita" na tinutukoy ni Rikki Mae ay ang kanyang maternal grandmother na si Pilita Corrales.
Sumakabilang-buhay ang Asia's Queen of Songs sa edad na 87 noong April 12.

RICKY'S SIBLINGS
Labis-labis din ang pasasalamat ni Rikki Mae sa mga naiwang kapatid ng kanyang ama.
Pahayag niya: "To Papa's siblings, Tita Yela, Tita Maymay, Uncle Charlon, Uncle Bing, we are so appreciative that you both flew home from America, and that you have been in constant communication with us to check on how your kuya is.
"I know that you guys love him so much.
"And before he left, we called them. He spoke in their ear and they were able to say their own goodbyes.
"I know that Papa loves each and every one of you."

RIKKI MAE's GIRLFRIEND
Aminado si Rikki Mae na hindi madali ang pinagdaanan ng kanyang pamilya.
Mabuti na lang daw at may katuwang at umaalalay sa kanya sa tuwing nalulungkot at pinanghihinaan siya ng loob.
Ito'y walang iba kundi ang kanyang non-showbiz partner na si Bloss.

Lahad ni Rikki Mae: "I just need to take this opportunity to thank people because really, a lot of people really helped us.
"To Bloss... Bloss is my partner of almost ten years.
"You know, with everything that our family is going through, she has been one of the ones who has shown love to our family, to me.
"[She saw] me in the middle of the night on the couch crying, looking at my dad's pictures.
"And then after, when I look at her, she's crying na rin. So we're crying together.
"But you know, it's good to breathe with someone or with your loved ones at least, you can do it together.
"So, thank you, Bloss."
RIKKI MAE GRATEFUL TO RICKY'S partner malca
Bago matapos ang kanyang eulogy, naging emosyunal si Rikki Mae nang balikan niya ang mga ginawang sakripisyo ni Mayeth Malca Darroca, ang non-showbiz partner ni Ricky.

Pagbabahagi ni Rikki Mae, sa apat na taong relasyon nina Malca at Ricky ay nakita niya kung gaano raw kahamahal ng mga ito ang isa't isa.
Hanggang sa mga huling sandali ay hindi raw umalis si Malca sa tabi ni Ricky, bagay na taus-pusong ipinagpapasalamat ni Rikki Mae sampu ng kanyang pamilya.
Mensahe ni Rikki Mae para sa partner ng kanyang ama: "To Malca... Malca is the girlfriend, the partner of my dad, for I think four years.
"And, really, we could not have done it if she was not there with my dad.
"She was the one who has been by his side in the hospital every day.
"You know, she used to be in an office, we were both from the BPO [industry], but she has stayed by his side and she has made him feel loved during the last years of his life.
"You know, of course, us as a family, we can do that, but she was able to do that for him as a partner."
Saksi raw si Rikki Mae kung paano alagaan ni Malca ang ama.
Dire-diretsong kuwento pa ni Rikki Mae: "I'm very, very appreciative of you taking care of Papa, and for loving him, and for making him feel loved until the end of his days.
"And even when we went home, she was still there.
"Hindi ko na ginagalaw yung dynamics nila. Because when we were in the ICU, I said, 'Dad, do you want us to stay here with you? Do you want us to sleep here? We can, you know, we can take turns, we can take shifts.'
"But Dad, because being the man that he is, he doesn't want to be a burden to people. Like [he said], 'No, I'm fine, I'm fine.'
"So when I saw that their dynamic was working for them, I would check in with her...
"But, yeah, I really appreciate that there was someone with him, taking care of him, and the taking care is in a bigger way already.
"In a way that we shouldn't have to, or it's not a way that we want to take care of our partner, but she did that.
"So thank you, Malca, from [our] family."

RIKKI MAE ON HER MOM, JACKIE LOU BLANCO
Sa huli, pinasalamatan at binigyang-pugay ni Rikki Mae ang kanyang inang si Jackie Lou Blanco.

Bagamat 14 taon nang hiwalay sina Jackie Lou at Ricky, ipinadama raw ng kanyang ina kung gaano pa rin kahalaga si Ricky bilang ama ng mga anak.
Ani Rikki Mae: "Lastly, to my mom, Mama, who is really the light of our family.
"From my dad being in the ICU to being in a regular room for five months, and then going home and going to the ICU again, and even before that, she has really shown the grace.
"I don't even know the word for it, but she has really, you know... I used to say that Papa is sobrang lakas niya.
"But seeing how my mom handled also, managing the siblings, our family, and making sure that she was there for each of us when she knew that we were going through what our family was going through.
"So, thank you, Mama. I love you so much."

Matapos nito'y sinabi ni Rikki Mae na hindi man siya handa sa pagkawala ng ama, ipinagpapasalamat daw niyang nariyan si Jackie Lou na tiyak na magmamahal at maggagabay sa kanilang magkakapatid.
Bukod kina Kenneth, Rikki Mae, at Ara ay may isa pa silang kapatid sa ama — si Justine "Teddy" Davao, na anak ni Ricky sa ex-girlfriend nitong si Cheryl Singzon.
