Mariing itinanggi ng kampo ni Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee ang alegasyong sangkot siya sa umano’y pambubugbog kay Bonifacio Baro, ang dating driver ng aktres na si Rhian Ramos.
Ayon kay Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, may mga ebidensiyang magpapatunay na wala si Michelle sa Maynila noong araw na sinabi ni Baro sa mga awtoridad na siya ay sinaktan, binugbog, at ikinulong umano nina Michelle, Rhian, at Samantha Panlilio sa isang high-end condominium building sa Makati City noong January 17, 2026.
Si Atty. Garduque ang legal counsel nina Michelle at Rhian.

Nakapanayam ni Boy Abunda si Garduque sa Fast Talk With Boy Abunda nitong Huwebes, January 29.
Dito ay iginiit ng abogada na walang katotohanan ang alegasyon ni Baro, dahil nasa Iloilo si Michelle noong January 17—ang petsang sinasabing nagsimula ang insidente.
Bilang patunay, ipinakita ni Garduque kay Boy ang plane ticket ni Michelle.
Ayon kay Boy, makikita sa plane ticket na 8:15 A.M. ng January 17 ang flight ni Michelle patungong Iloilo, habang 11:30 P.M. naman ang oras ng kanyang pagbabalik sa Maynila.
Pahayag ni Garduque: "Napanood namin yung interview ng driver ni Rhian Ramos, dito sa allegation na alleged mauling, torture, and illegal detention for three days daw.
"We find this physically impossible and also incredible kasi based on the allegation of the driver, nangyari raw yung alleged mauling and illegal detention, January 17 to 19.
"However, records would show na si Michelle Dee was in Iloilo ng buong araw ng January 17, and she was able to go back to Manila only on January 18.
"So, meron naman siyang mga plane tickets, merong mga pictures or posts niya at ng ibang tao na magpapakita na talagang nandoon siya sa Miss Iloilo at nandoon siya sa lloilo noong mga panahong yon."
Sa salaysay naman ni Baro sa media kahapon, sinabi nitong nangyari ang pananakit umano sa kanya ni Michelle madaling-araw ng Lunes, bago ito umalis.
Pahayag ni Baro sa ulat na nailathala sa Inquirer: “Ilang beses akong tumumba sa upuan, pero kahit anong makaawa ko wala na ako sa kanila.
"Ta’s nung paalis si Ma’am Michelle sa ibang lugar, mga 6 ng umaga nung 17, tinuluy-tuloy pa rin akong binugbog ng mga bodyguard niya. Mga kasama ko sa trabaho yan sila, hindi po sila naawa sakin.
“Si Ma’am Rhian naman, nandon siya. Sinapak, sinampal niya ako ta’s binatukan niya ako ilang beses.
"Kaya yun nga ang ano ko, bakit pati sya binatukan ako. Tapos nun, binatukan na naman ako ng mga bodyguard nya.”
Michelle’s qualified theft complaint vs. Baro
Ipinaliwanag din ni Garduque ang pagkakabasura ng Makati City Prosecutor’s Office sa reklamong qualified theft na inihain ni Michelle laban kay Baro.
Ani Garduque, hindi nakasaad sa resolusyon ng Prosecutor's Office na walang basehan ang reklamo ni Michelle na qualified theft.
Technical daw ang dahilan ng pagkakabasura nito.
Dahil dito, nagdesisyon si Michelle na muling magsampa ng reklamo laban kay Baro.

Kasunod ito ng pagpunta ni Baro sa tanggapan ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) nitong Miyerkules, January 28, para isumite ang reklamo niyang torture at illegal detention laban kina Michelle at Rhian.
Kasama ni Baro na nagtungo sa NBI si Boy Evangelista, ang presidente ng Volunteers Against Crimes and Corrupt (VACC).
Kaugnay nito, sinabi ni Garduque na hindi pa nila natatanggap ang kopya ng complaint ni Baro.
Nakahanda naman daw silang harapin ito gaya ng kahandaan nilang sumunod sa proseso ng imbestigasyon at sa pagpa-file ng kontra-salaysay.
Pahayag niya: "Foremost, we would like to clarify that there is no formal criminal complaint file against our clients yet.
"The complaint sheet submitted by the complainant before the NBI is made seeking for the investigation of the NBI on this matter.
"It was only when a complaint was filed before the prosecutor's office that a formal criminal complaint is initiated."
MICHELLE CAMP QUESTIONS BARO’S STATEMENT
Kinuwestiyon din ng kampo ni Michelle ang salaysay na binitawan ni Baro sa NBI at media tungkol sa kung paano siya kinulong at sinaktan ng beauty queen.
Ani Garduque: "According to the complainant, he was detained and mauled for three days starting January 17 to January 19. However, records would show that Michelle Dee was in Iloilo on January 17 and was able to go back only on the 18th.
"On the 19th, records likewise would show that the complainant was already in the Makati City Police station for inquest investigation.
"As a matter of procedure, he was brought to Ospital ng Makati for medical examination before incarcerated in said station. No signs of said mauling [were] seen during his medical examination.
"Moreover, his allegations do not match the injuries he showed to the media. He said he was punched, kicked, slapped and his eye was likewise poked with the nails of Michelle.
"However, he failed to show any bruises or injury in his body, face, and eye. Contrarily these parts of the body were clean as shown in his interviews."
Tiwala ang kampo ni Michelle na gagawin ng NBI ang lahat ng kanilang makakaya para sa patas na imbestigasyon.
Saad ni Garduque: "We hope that with proper investigation, NBI will find that there is lack of evidence to show prima face case for these complaints to be filed before the prosecutor's office.
"However, since extreme damage has already been done to the reputation of our clients, we reserve the right to file criminal cases for libel and perjury against the complainant for the defamatory allegations he publicly made against our clients."

SENSITIVE IMAGES INSIDE ANGPAO
Nag-ugat ang kontrobersiyang ito sa paratang ni Michelle na ninakaw ni Baro ang “sensitive images” na nakalagay sa angpao (red envelope).
Ibinalik daw ito ni Baro sa kanya pero, diumano, kulang ng isang piraso.
Ang asawa ni Baro na si Celeste Baro raw ang nakakita sa angpao na kinuha ng driver.
Ang buong akala ng misis ni Baro, pera ang laman ng angpao. Pero malalaswang larawan daw ang kanyang “naaninag,” at sinabi niya ito kay Michelle.
Sa salaysay ni Baro sa TV Patrol nitong January 28, inakusahan niya nang pambubugbog at pangtu-torture si Michelle, Rhian, at Sam.
Dawit din ang dalawa bodyguards ni Rhian na tumulong na bumugbog diumano sa kanya.
Kuwento ni Baro, tatlong araw raw siyang ikinulong sa condominium unit nina Rhian at Michelle, mula noong January 17.
Tinangka umano niyang tumakas sa pamamagitan ng paglabas sa bintana mula sa 39th floor.
Pero nakita raw siya ng officer-in-charge ng condominium building at ng bodyguards ni Rhian.
Dito na siya dinala sa Makati Police, at sinampahan ni Michelle ng reklamong qualified theft.
