Lovi Poe will be paired with Tom Rodriguez in GMA-7's new soap titled Someone to Watch Over Me.
It will be recalled that this is the same title of Judy Ann Santos's postponed ABS-CBN TV series.
The Kapuso Network had its story conference and look test for Someone to Watch Over Me last July 4.
According to a report by GMANetwork.com, Lovi is cast as the simple wife of a finance professional played by Tom.
However, as time passes by, Tom's character suddenly forgets details about his wife, and he eventually finds out that he has Alzheimer's disease.
Tom said about his character, "Siguro, I have to say this now, that this is a disease that is degenerative.
"So, I don’t think there will be that moment sa show namin na bigla na lang akong gagaling.
"Kaya mas na-e-excite ako na gusto ko makita kung saan pupunta yung kuwento, kasi nga alam na na yung patient is hindi siya biglang milagrong gagaling. So, it’s exciting to see where it goes."
Lovi shared on her Instagram account how excited she is to work with Maryo J. Delos Reyes.
The show has not yet revealed the identities of Tom and Lovi's co-stars, except for Max Collins.

Last year, ABS-CBN and Dreamscape Entertainment announced a show that is also titled Someone to Watch Over Me. This was supposed to be the comeback teleserye of Judy Ann Santos.

However, the project was postponed due to Judy Ann's unexpected pregnancy last June.
During a PEPTalk episode, ABS-CBN teen actress Michelle Vito said that they already taped the pilot week of the series. But then, they had to stop taping due to Judy Ann's condition at the time.
Judy Ann had already given birth but no announcement has been made if the TV show (which also stars Richard Yap and Diether Ocampo) will push through.
GMA-7's Someone to Watch Over Me is expected to air this August.
