Ang 47-year-old former actor na si Dale Villar ang isa sa mga pinaka-apektado sa pagpanaw ni Patrick Guzman dahil magkasabay na nagsimula ang kanilang mga showbiz career noong 1993.
Nagkasama rin sila sa mga pelikula kaya "twin brother" ang turing nila sa isa’t-isa.
Sumakabilang-buhay si Patrick noong June 15, 2023 sa Toronto, Canada dahil sa atake sa puso, isang malungkot na pangyayari na labis na dinamdam ni Dale.
"It’s scary. I am sad, but it’s almost looking like a reflection. I have been watching all day, reading the news about him,” ang nagluluksa na pahayag ni Dale sa Cabinet Files ngayong Linggo ng umaga, June 18, 2023, ang araw na ipinagdiriwang ang mga ama.
"It goes to show that life is absolutely precious. When I read that he passed away, it made me even feel more connected about my mortality.
"What impact would I leave in this world? It can easily be me, and I am so sadden by the news. Him and I are the same so while we weren’t close after our showbiz career, I believe we were brothers during our time together,” ang sabi pa ni Dale.
Saka inalala ng dating aktor ang showbiz days nila ni Patrick.
"Patrick was my counterpart. He was my opposite. He and I started about the same time, ended our careers at the same time. He was eight years older than me.
"I was telling my wife, he was my twin in showbiz. I was from the U.S. He was from Canada. We were the two 'bulol' Tagalog boys.
"I felt that we always had a connection and while we didn’t look alike exactly, everyone always thought I was him and him as I."
Ginunita rin niya ang mga panahong muntik na silang maging showbiz rivals.
Sa pagpapatuloy ng U.S.-based actor, "Patrick and I were almost made to be rivals because of the station and where we came from. Everything from GMA-7 for me, ABS-CBN for him.
"I had Vilma [as co-host] on GMA-7 and he has Sharon [as co-host] on ABS-CBN.
"The competition was tough then, and I know he and I looked at each other—as who was going to be a flash in the pan and who was going to make it.
"However, we were friends and we had some amazing time. I remember, I would even try to talk just plain English, and he would continue to speak Tagalog. He was always making sure that he was focusing on his skills as an actor."
Lubos ang pakikiramay ni Dale sa pamilya na naulila ni Patrick at ito ang kanyang mensahe.
"To Patrick’s family, I can’t imagine the pain, and from our family to yours, our sincerest condolences.
"Patrick was always kind and has amazing heart, he is forever part of my memories in the Philippines.”
Nagsimula noong March 1993 ang acting career ni Dale. Tinalikuran nito ang showbiz noong 1997 at bumalik sa Portland, Oregon, USA, para mamuhay bilang isang pribadong mamamayan.
Kung ipinagpatuloy ni Dale ang pagiging artista, ngayong taon ang ika-tatlumpong anibersaryo niya sa showbiz.
Sa kasalukuyan, sales director si Dale sa Mercedez Benz.
Blended family sila ng asawang si Megan dahil sa kanilang mga anak na apat na lalake at isang babae.
Labing-apat na taon nang hindi nakakabisita si Dale sa Pilipinas, pero may plano siya na magbakasyon sa bansa na malaki ang kontribusyon sa pagkatao niya at nagbigay sa kanya ng mga hindi malilimutan na oportunidad at aral sa buhay.
