Biktima ng body shaming si Lovi Poe nang magsimula ang showbiz career niya noong 2004.
Sa edad na labinlima, nakaranas si Lovi ng mga panglalait dahil sa kanyang kayumangging kulay at malusog na pangangatawan.

“I remember before when I was starting, I was told I was never gonna make it because I was dark-skinned.
“I was never gonna make it because I am flat-chested. Yung mga ganoon.
“Nag-umpisa ako when I was fifteen and sinasabihan nila ako na, ‘You’ll never gonna make it because you’re big. You’re chubby!’” sabi ni Lovi, na natatawa habang binabalikan ang nakaraang nakaapekto sa pagkatao niya.
Pagpapatuloy niya, “Ang daming words na ganyan.
“Siyempre naapektuhan ako, but then, I gave myself a few days to sulk. You know what, babangon ako ulit and I’m just gonna enjoy myself.
“Gagalingan ko sa work ko, aalagaan ko ang sarili ko and, you know, things will come true eventually, so don’t let yourself feel down.
“I was so young, hindi pa ako marunong mag-alaga ng sarili ko.
"As a newbie, I even asked my manager Tito Leo [Dominguez], ‘Ano ang nakita mo sa akin?’
“Laking pasasalamat ko na lang talaga sa lahat ng mga tao who actually took a chance and accepted me, even my first project. Even my first endorsement.”
Hindi ipinagkaila ni Lovi na isa sa mga insecurity niya noon ang pagiging morena kaya hindi siya makapaniwala nang kuning beauty at celebrity ambassador ni Gracee Angeles, ang negosyanteng may-ari ng Skin Care Depot o SCD.
“Totoo ba, skin care brand?" reaksiyon ni Lovi nang nakapanayam siya ng entertainment press sa renewal at contract signing niya na naganap sa isang hotel sa Quezon City, ngayong Martes ng tanghali, Mayo 21, 2024.
“Kasi siguro yon ang biggest insecurity ko when I was starting, kasi yun ang nilalait sa akin.
"But you know what, thank you. Thank you dahil napatunayan ko na if you take care of yourself talaga, it will come shining through and thank you for trusting me.”

LOVI POE ON FINDING THE PERFECT BALANCE
Sa July 2024 pa babalik si Lovi sa Amerika dahil kailangan niya munang tapusin ang mga pelikulang kanyang ginagawa sa Pilipinas.
Kabilang dito ang isang proyekto na siya ang producer pero hindi pa puwedeng sabihin ang kumpletong detalye hangga’t hindi dumarating sa ating bansa ang mga magbibida na artista.
Nagpapasalamat si Lovi dahil maunawain ang kanyang asawa na si Montgomery Blencowe na buong-buo ang suporta sa propesyon niya bilang aktres, kahit matagal na panahon na malayo sila sa isa’t isa.

“To be honest, I’m trying to find the perfect balance. I love my job, I love working so much even my husband knows it. Sabi niya, hindi na niya mababago from me.
“I’ve been working since I was fifteen years old. Sabi niya, ‘It’s not something that I want to change’ and I’m really grateful for that.
“He’s very supportive na we’ve been apart again for the next six weeks and it’s not the typical set up for most people but we’re making it work and we want to make it work.
“I’m just very grateful that he’s very understanding and supportive and I would like to do the same for him.
“I try to find the perfect balance. It’s not the easiest thing to do but I’m happy where I am at. I’m happy being home here in the Philippines.
“The truth is, yes, I have three different homes [USA, London, and Manila] but Philippines for me is still home.
"I maybe doing projects abroad but iba pa rin siyempre, pag-uwi mo rito, iba yung pagkain, iba yung mga kasama mong tao. Ang sarap mag-Tagalog, yung mga ganoong simpleng bagay.
“I am just grateful that he’s there for me even if I’m busy and we find time for each other,” lahad ni Lovi.
