Unilab Inc., the country’s leading pharmaceutical company, marked its 80th founding anniversary with a renewed call to strengthen its long-standing mission of "Alagang Unilab Para sa Lahat"—emphasizing compassion, community health, and shared care among Filipinos.
Since its establishment in 1945, Unilab has remained committed to providing quality and affordable healthcare products for every Filipino family.
Eight decades later, the company continues to expand its advocacy beyond medicines, promoting wellness programs and partnerships aimed at improving lives across communities.

As part of its 80th year celebration, Unilab launched "Alagang Para sa Lahat," a campaign in partnership with Southstar Drug and Rose Pharmacy that seeks to bring quality care to even more Filipinos.
The event was held on September 24, 2025, at Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas, led by key leaders from Unilab and Robinsons Retail Group’s Southstar Drug and Rose Pharmacy.
A full-day celebration for mallgoers and guests, the launch featured booths offering basic check-ups, health and wellness services, product samplings, and specially priced Unilab packages.
Beyond the activities and promotions, the campaign’s core message took center stage as Unilab Inc. and UL Skin Sciences President and CEO Backy Baquiran emphasized the deeper significance of the celebration and the values that have long defined Unilab’s journey.
He said: "For eight decades, Unilab has stood for excellence, compassion, and collective care. These values have guided every product we've created, every partnership we've nurtured, and every Filipino family we've served.
"They have been the pillars that allowed us to stand strong for 80 years, and they continue to propel us forward into the future.
"Today, we take this commitment a step further with the launch of 'Alagang Para sa Lahat,' because alaga is more than care—it is a real, intentional, and shared commitment.
"It is care that does not choose who to serve, but chooses to serve everyone. To reach not just the privileged, but also the underserved; not only the healthy, but the vulnerable. Not some, but all."

Unilab’s Husay at Malasakit
Corporate vice president and head of Sales & Customer Development Ermelo Villaroman also spoke about how the company’s eight-decade legacy continues to shape its purpose of nurturing the nation’s health.
"Unilab is 80 years old, and I mentioned to Ma’am Robina [Gokongwei] earlier that Southstar Drug opened its first branch 88 years ago, while Rose Pharmacy was established 73 years ago. So this foundation is based on a long history of shared values,” Ermelo said.

He also shared a personal connection to the brand, recalling how Unilab products have long been part of his own family’s life.
“When I was seven years old and didn’t know I would one day work for Unilab, my parents were already loyal users of its products.
"Noong naging magulang po ako at nanirahan kami sa labas ng Pilipinas for 15 years, nag-i-stock up kami for six months’ supply ng Unilab kasi bahagi ito ng paggaling ng aking pamilya.
"This is the kind of legacy that we carry on—making it bigger and more inclusive, allowing us to reach communities by partnering with Southstar Drug and Rose Pharmacy."
For Joanne Dawn Arceo, group general manager of Southstar Drug, Rose Pharmacy, and TGP under Robinsons Retail Holdings, the partnership is a natural alignment of values.

Four Campaign Pillars
During the event, Unilab also announced several programs to be implemented under "Alagang Para sa Lahat," focusing on medical services and community wellness:
1. Smart Meds Program – In collaboration with Maxicare, this initiative offers exclusive benefits and improved access to medicines for Maxicare members at Southstar Drug and Rose Pharmacy branches.
2. Online Exclusives – Both Southstar Drug and Rose Pharmacy will enhance their digital presence with online deals, thematic promos, and interactive wellness campaigns.
3. Alagang Para sa Lahat Raffle Promo – Shoppers can join exciting raffles. Southstar Drug will award 80 winners of PHP8,000 each and one grand prize winner of PHP1,000,000. Rose Pharmacy will have 80 winners of PHP8,000 each and 80 winners of PHP2,000 worth of assorted Unilab products.
4. Advocacies and CSR Partnerships – These will highlight Unilab’s continued involvement in corporate social responsibility programs focused on health and wellness.
