The Instagram interactions between Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz over the past two weeks turn out to be a part of their "unconfined cinema" project.

This was revealed today, April 29, on the social-media accounts of the people involved, including project writer Antoinette Jadaone and project producers Dan Villegas, Erwin Romulo, and Philbert Dy.

Their posts come with a screenshot of Bea and John Lloyd's Instagram Live session of April 27, and the project's title, Love Team.

They also state that Love Team stars Bea and John Lloyd as themselves.

The Instagram posts read: "The Unconfined Cinema was founded on the idea of exploring what else cinema could be, freeing our stories to be told outside of the traditional spaces and conceptual boundaries set by the last century of the medium.

"In this unprecedented time of quarantine, in a time when movie production is impossible, we found it especially pressing to find ways to tell our stories.

"'Love Team' is a love story – whether romantic or in its other forms – told entirely within Instagram. It is a story of our times. Love stories have always had their place in Filipino cinema, and we wanted to bring the feelings that those movies inspire to a platform that has become more relevant and utilised in this time of quarantine – social media, specifically Instagram.

"The use of social media creates all sorts of new possibilities for storytelling. This was a story told over two weeks, adapting and evolving to real-life events, integrating our genuine sentiments over the state that we're in."

For instance, in the reel couple's Instagram live session, the 36-year-old actor briefly aired his frustrations over the lack of sustainable aid for the poor.

The producers say they used Instagram as a platform to tell the story of two people who are "reconnecting in a trying time."

Their statement says: "This is a platform where we all share little bits of ourselves. Through our images, this curated list of memories, we reveal what it is we want the rest of the world to see.

"Using the various features of Instagram, we attempted to tell a story of two people reconnecting in a trying time; separated by distance, but united in their memories."

The producers also reiterate the disclaimer from their first post: This is a "work of fiction." Hence, in all the stars' posts, they use the hashtag #unconfinedcinema.

The producers' statement continues: "We are in a culture where the usually distinct line between reality and make-believe blur. We started this story by stating that 'any resemblance to persons, living or dead, is intentional.'

"And that remains true. It was the only way this was possible. The Unconfined Cinema invites filmmakers and artists to join us in exploring the possibilities of our cinema. Not just on Instagram, but on every stage imaginable. #unconfinedcinema"

Philbert Dy, one of the show's producers, also clarifies on Twitter that the "unconfined cinema" project must be taken on its own merits.

It is not part of the promotions for a possible movie reunion of Bea and John Lloyd as a love team.

On April 11, 2020, Bea and John Lloyd announced in their individual Instagram accounts that their next project would be a "work of fiction" on the photo-and-video-sharing platform.

John Lloyd "accidentally" liked Bea's old post dated February 21, 2019.

He also left a comment, which had Bea making this comment: "may na-miss?"

This was followed by more conversation about Bea's past Instagram posts.

On April 21, Bea and John Lloyd engaged in another banter in the comments section of the actress' Instagram post of that same day.

In their conversation, John Lloyd told Bea that he was getting "tired," and asked Bea if he could call her.

On April 27, Bea and John Lloyd spent nearly one hour and 30 minutes in an Instagram Live session looking back on their relationship as friends and as love-team partners for 18 years.

The two actors went on to throw each other lines borrowed from their 2007 hit movie, One More Chance.

Bea also said, in that session, that Sarah Geronimo was John Lloyd's "GL" or great love.

All these interactions brought kilig to Bea-John Lloyd fans, making their Instagram Live session a trending topic on Twitter that day.
