Former Kapuso actress Sunshine Dizon is "happy to be a kapamilya."
This is based on her quote from the teaser of ABS-CBN's upcoming series, Marry Me, Marry You, which was released today, April 30, 2021.
The teaser featured the cast of the series headlined by Janine Gutierrez and Paulo Avelino.
Aside from Sunshine, Cherry Pie Picache, Vina Morales, Jake Ejercito, and Edu Manzano are also part of the cast.
MARRY ME, MARRY YOU TEASER
The teaser showed the cast in video clips taped separately.
Janine, clad in a wedding dress, opened the teaser with the line: "Imagine spending your life with the one that you love," which could mean that she will portray a bride in the series.
Cherry Pie, Vina, and Edu mentioned how couples should plan their weddings well and make their marriages last.
Cherry Pie then said in her second clip, "Welcome sa bagong kapamilya."
Sunshine was then shown in the next frame, saying, "Happy to be a Kapamilya," which does not only pertain to her character in the show but with her first project with ABS-CBN.
Sunshine was also included in the last frame with Janine, Vina, and Cherry Pie, with four of them shouting "Mabuhay ang bagong kasal!"
SUNSHINE DIZON: FROM KAPUSO TO KAPAMILYA
Marry Me, Marry You marks the first project of Sunshine with ABS-CBN after 25 years of being a Kapuso.
On April 19, 2021, PEP.ph's PEP Troika first reported that Sunshine would transfer to ABS-CBN as a freelance actress after her contract was not renewed by GMA-7.
Today, April 30, ABS-CBN also officially welcomed Sunshine as a Kapamilya.
Sunshine said in an artcard posted by ABS-CBN's social media accounts: "Maraming salamat Kapamilya! Excited na ako para sa bagong project."
Sunshine's last project in GMA-7 was the afternoon series Magkaagaw, which ended its run on March 31, 2021.
Other top-rating projects that Sunshine top-billed in GMA-7 were: Ika-6 Na Utos (2016-2018), Villa Quintana (2013-2014), Mundo Mo'y Akin (2013), Impostora (2007), Bakekang (2006-2007), Encantadia (2005-2006), Kung Mawawala Ka (2002-2003), and Anna Karenina (1996-2002).
As a child actress, Sunshine had appearances in ABS-CBN drama anthologies such as The Maricel Drama Special and Maalaala Mo Kaya.
JANINE'S FIRST TELESERYE AS A KAPAMILYA
Marry Me, Marry You is also Janine's first teleserye as a Kapamilya.
It was on December 28, 2020 when PEP.ph's Cabinet Files first broke the news that Janine would sign with ABS-CBN after nine years of being with GMA-7.
It was after her contract expired in November 2020 and a contract renewal did not happen between both parties.
She then signed a contract with ABS-CBN on January 15, 2021.
Prior to this teleserye, Janine has already started her hosting duties in ASAP Natin 'To. She is also set to appear in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya with JM de Guzman.
