ABS-CBN’s flagship newscast, TV Patrol, is now airing again on free TV.

Starting today, January 3, 2022, TV Patrol is going to be part of the prime-time programming of A2Z Channel 11, where ABS-CBN has an existing blocktime agreement since October 2020.

Based on the lineup of A2Z's programs for its weekday programming, TV Patrol occupies the 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. timeslot, which is the same as its schedule on the cable channels Kapamilya Channel and ANC, and on Kapamilya Online Live and TV Patrol’s own YouTube channel on streaming.

Meanwhile, Primetime Zinema has been renamed Afternoon Zinema, and now owns the 4:00 to 5:45 p.m. slot.

TV Patrol’s weekend edition, TV Patrol Weekend, has started airing on A2Z on January 1, 2022.

The last time TV Patrol aired on free TV was May 5, 2021, the day when the cease-and-desist order of tje National Telecommunications Commission took effect.

It was the last TV show that aired on ABS-CBN at 6:19 p.m. or six minutes earlier than its 6:25 p.m. timeslot at the height of the pandemic.

TV Patrol AFTER THE SHUTDOWN

On May 7, 2020, TV Patrol resumed airing on ANC and its streaming on Facebook, iWant, and YouTube.

TV Patrol was supposed to simulcast on Kapamilya Channel on June 15, 2020, but was later excluded from its programming line-up.

However, on July 27, 2020, TV Patrol started airing on Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live.

TV Patrol has also gone through many changes after the ABS-CBN shutdown, including the departure of its main anchors Ted Failon and Noli de Castro and weatherman Kim Atienza.

TV Patrol’s current main anchors are Henry Omaga Diaz, Bernadette Sembrano, and Karen Davila, with Ariel Rojas as its weather meteorologist and Gretchen Fullido as its showbiz news reporter.
