ABS-CBN’s flagship newscast, TV Patrol, is now airing again on free TV.
Starting today, January 3, 2022, TV Patrol is going to be part of the prime-time programming of A2Z Channel 11, where ABS-CBN has an existing blocktime agreement since October 2020.
Based on the lineup of A2Z's programs for its weekday programming, TV Patrol occupies the 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. timeslot, which is the same as its schedule on the cable channels Kapamilya Channel and ANC, and on Kapamilya Online Live and TV Patrol’s own YouTube channel on streaming.
Meanwhile, Primetime Zinema has been renamed Afternoon Zinema, and now owns the 4:00 to 5:45 p.m. slot.
TV Patrol’s weekend edition, TV Patrol Weekend, has started airing on A2Z on January 1, 2022.
The last time TV Patrol aired on free TV was May 5, 2021, the day when the cease-and-desist order of tje National Telecommunications Commission took effect.
It was the last TV show that aired on ABS-CBN at 6:19 p.m. or six minutes earlier than its 6:25 p.m. timeslot at the height of the pandemic.
The last broadcast of TV Patrol was dedicated to ABS-CBN's shutdown, including interviews with loyal viewers who talked about the way the network changed their lives and affected the way they live, as well as the last messages of ABS-CBN big bosses Carlo Katigbak and Mark Lopez.
TV Patrol AFTER THE SHUTDOWN
On May 7, 2020, TV Patrol resumed airing on ANC and its streaming on Facebook, iWant, and YouTube.
TV Patrol was supposed to simulcast on Kapamilya Channel on June 15, 2020, but was later excluded from its programming line-up.
However, on July 27, 2020, TV Patrol started airing on Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live.
TV Patrol launched two new segments on October 25, 2021: “Winning Moment” with Winnie Cordero and “Alam N'yo Ba?” with Boyet Sison.
Marc Logan’s “Mga Kwento ni Marc Logan” also made its comeback on that day.
