It can be said they’re following in their mother’s footsteps, but judging by their past and present projects, these showbiz offspring appear to have honed their acting chops, and have already stepped out of the shadow of their moms.
Here, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) puts the spotlight on the six famous and talented mother-daughter tandems in showbiz.
KAILA ESTRADA AND JANICE DE BELEN
Kaila Estrada is currently trending for her impressive performance in the Prime Video series Linlang, and many netizens are saying this is not surprising.
She is, after all, “anak ni Janice.”

Kaila has exited from Linlang, her third series, and is currently being seen in Can’t Buy Me Love on Kapamilya channel and Netflix.
From all indications, the 27-year-old actress is looking far into the future.
Kaila is in for the long haul in showbiz, just like her mom, Janice de Belen.

Janice started as a child actress in Flordeluna, and has since enjoyed a stellar career. She was last seen on television in the series Dirty Linen.

KC CONCEPCION AND SHARON CUNETA
KC Concepcion is set to conquer Hollywood with her film Asian Persuasion, which has made its world premiere and is on its way to Philippine theaters.
The film was screened at the SOHO International Film Festival in New York City on September 16 and 17, 2023.
According to the film’s Facebook page, the Philippine premiere is set for November 29, 2023.

KC may not have been active in local showbiz in the past couple of years, but her mom Sharon Cuneta continues to live up to her moniker as the Megastar.
Last seen in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Sharon returns to the big screen starring alongside Alden Richards in A Mother and Son’s Story, an entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

JENNICA GARCIA AND JEAN GARCIA
Jennica Garcia started acting in GMA-7, where she stayed for seven years.
Her big break came in the ABS-CBN series Dirty Linen.
She is set to star alongside Melai Cantiveros and Karylle in the upcoming Philippine-South Korean action-comedy film Ma'am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul.

Jennica's mom, Jean Garcia, one of the country’s premier kontrabidas, is best remembered for her iconic portrayal of Claudia Buenavista in the original version of Pangako Sa ‘Yo in year 2000.
She is the Kapuso network’s resident villainess, and was last seen in the TV adaptation of Maging Sino Ka Man.
JANINE GUTIERREZ AND LOTLOT DE LEON
Since she started her showbiz career in GMA-7, Janine Gutierrez has captivated audiences with her beauty and acting prowess.
The actress is known for taking on challenging roles in the Kapuso series Legally Blind and Dragon Lady, and has won awards for her role in the 2020 film Babae at Baril.
But it was her starring role in the ABS-CBN series Dirty Linen that had constantly kept her on top of trending topics.

Janine certainly has done her mom Lotlot de Leon proud.
Lotlot has starred in many film and television projects since she started her career in the late ‘70s. She was last seen in the GMA-7 series The Write One.
ANDI EIGENMANN AND JACLYN JOSE
Fans dearly miss seeing Andi Eigenmann on screen, a testament to how she has made her mark in local showbiz.
Starting in 2010, Andi starred in one ABS-CBN series after another: Agua Bendita, Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, Kahit Puso’y Masugatan, and Galema: Anak Ni Zuma.
She earned nominations for her work in the films A Secret Affair (2012) and Ma Rosa (2016).
The actress is presently based in Siargao, where she and her partner Philmar Alipayo are raising their children.

Believers in Andi's thespian gift wish for her the same storied career as her mom, the internationally acclaimed actress Jaclyn Jose, who has been a fixture on Philippine television and cinema, and is currently starring in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.
Jaclyn is also the first Filipino to win the best actress award at the Cannes Film Festival.
IANA BERNARDEZ AND ANGEL AQUINO
Iana Bernardez is one of today’s rising stars, no surprise there as she is the daughter of multi-awarded actress, Angel Aquino.
Iana had a supporting role in ABS-CBN's 2021 comedy teleserye Marry Me, Marry You and a more recent guest role in the soon-to-end dramatic series Unbreak My Heart.
But she caught the audience’s attention in the 2019 film Metamorphosis, for which she won the Best Supporting Actress award in the Cinema One Originals film festival.
She was last seen in the 2023 film Ten Little Mistresses, the first Filipino-produced film to be streamed on Prime Video.

Her mom Angel has appeared in numerous film, television, and stage projects throughout her career.
Her projects this year include the film A Very Good Girl and the ongoing series Senior High.
