“Scammers are an online threat — a form of warfare often tied to human trafficking that has global consequences.

“Countries such as South Korea and the USA have launched severe crackdowns. What penalties do you think could help dismantle these operations?”

Here's how each of the Top 5 finalists answered:

Miss Grand Ghana 2025 Faith Porter

“Online scamming is one of the most dangerous issues facing our society. That is why it is more important than ever that we teach technological advocacy.

“I'm grateful to be a part of the Miss Grand Ghana organization that provides technology certificates to young women in our country.

“Because now more than ever, it is important to use technology as a force for good instead of hate.

“And through education, we can stop these actions. Thank you.”

Miss Grand Venezuela 2025 Nariman Battikha

“Every day we wake up, we work for our dreams, for us, and for people we love. We don't deserve to be taken everything we possess just for power.

“Therefore, we have to stop this situation.

“Remember, the legacy we leave depends on the action that we take today.

“So, the penalty for me will be that I have to return every money they take from others, because if we work, we deserve to live the way we live.”

Context

In recent years, online scams have evolved from isolated fraud schemes into a sprawling global threat that intersects with human trafficking, forced labor, and organized cybercrime.

According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), traffickers increasingly use the internet to post deceptive job offers, recruit victims through social media, and force them into online crime operations.

Large-scale “fraud factories” in Southeast Asia alone are believed to hold tens of thousands of people trapped in digital servitude, generating billions of dollars in illicit revenue and preying on vulnerable communities across borders.

By spotlighting this issue in its final Q&A, Miss Grand International reaffirmed its mission to merge beauty with advocacy, using its global stage to confront modern forms of exploitation.
