Gardo Versoza has moved back to GMA-7 after doing stints at ABS-CBN since 2019.
The freelance actor, who is not exclusively tied to any network, is part of the upcoming Kapuso prime-time series First Yaya.
Gardo posted on Instagram some photos taken during the lock-in taping of First Yaya.
He also posted TikTok videos with First Yaya lead actress Sanya Lopez, former ABS-CBN actor and Descendants of the Sun cast member Jon Lucas, and former Kapamilya director Rechie del Carmen.
At press time, Gardo is still seen in Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s digital movie series, The House Arrest of Us, produced by Star Cinema and shown on ABS-CBN’s digital platforms KTX and iWantTFC.
Recently, he also made an appearance in ASAP Natin ‘To, where he performed his popular dance in high heels. He first showed his dance moves in his TikTok account.
Gardo’s last two TV projects with the Kapamilya network were FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and SanDugo.
Gardo’s last project with GMA-7 was the prime-time series Onanay, which aired from 2018 to 2019.
Beauty queen Maxine Medina, whose acting projects were previously with ABS-CBN, is also making her Kapuso debut in First Yaya.
The series is also the comeback project of Pilar Pilapil for GMA-7, after working with ABS-CBN since 2008.
TWO MORE ABS-CBN STARS JOIN FIRST YAYA
Apart from Gardo and Maxine, two more ABS-CBN stars are joining First Yaya.
These are Star Magic talents Thou Reyes and Clarence Delgado.
Both actors are seen in photos taken on the set of First Yaya, as posted by GMA Drama.
Thou has been a talent of Star Magic since the ‘90s, starting his career via the youth-oriented gag show Ang TV.
His last appearance with ABS-CBN was in the prime-time series Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, where he did a guest role.
Clarence is the winner of Star Circle Quest: The Search for the Next Kiddie Superstar in 2010.
Since then, he became a part of several Kapamilya projects, including the long-running sitcom Home Sweetie Home, which had been running since 2014.
Home Sweetie Home ended its run in March 2020, when production was halted because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
It was also not included on the list of shows that resumed airing via Kapamilya Channel and A2Z Channel 11 after ABS-CBN’s broadcast franchise expired and was not renewed by Congress in July 2020.
Clarence will still be seen in his last Kapamilya project, the Star Cinema movie Four Sisters Before The Wedding, where he will play the younger version of Enchong Dee’s character in the 2013 movie Four Sisters and a Wedding.
First Yaya, top-billed by Sanya Lopez and Gabby Concepcion, will also feature Cassy Legaspi, JD Domagoso, Cai Cortez, Kakai Bautista, Thia Tomalla, and Pancho Magno, among others.
The project was originally intended for Marian Rivera, but she decided to back out of the show to prioritize taking care of her kids.
