Sa panayam ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kay Mark sa Zoom mediacon ng Voltes V: Legacy noong Miyerkules, August 30, 2023, ikinuwento ng itinuturing na "captain of the ship" ng serye kung ano ang pinagdaanan ng cast and crew para makunan ang naturang eksena.
Pagbabalik-tanaw ni Mark, "Yung death of Mary Ann, we had to rush and chase the sunset. Kasi I knew that this was going to be the ending for The Cinematic Experience.”
Ang tinutukoy ni Mark ay ang edited version ng Voltes V: Legacy na ipinalabas sa mga sinehan ng SM noong April 19, bago umere ang serye sa telebisyon noong May 8.

Pagtuloy niya, “Saka sa pilot also of the series. We came from another area, e, pababa na yung sunset, so I told the guys to hurry up. Si Matt [Lozano], hindi naka-costume kasi he was in a different continuity, nagmamadali siya.
“I was instructing everyone, even the cameraman, we were all hustling para maabutan yung sunset shot that you see in the film, after the death of Mary Ann."
Si Mary Ann Armstrong ay ang ina ng Armstrong brothers na sina Steve (Miguel Tanfelix, middle), Big Bert (Matt Lozano, L), at Little Jon (Raphael Landicho, R).

Sa pagpapatuloy ni Direk Mark, “And then, you know, I was feeding them the emotions and then the iconic side shot that I wanted to take, iyon.
“Ano yun, it was one of the biggest accomplishments for me as a director because it’s the way I saw it in my head.
“I had a particular frame, that particular shot, that particular color that I wanted. And then the emotions were there, yung hingal nila dun, totoong hingal yun kasi nagmamadali sila to get to the set, you know.
“And then iyak, ganyan, and then at least you know, by that time that we shot that scene, mga hasa na lahat itong group na ito, e, this bunch of actors, ano?
“Even if they were all fresh like Radson na without too much experience, also Matt, pero once we shot that scene kargado na, e.
“And they know we were already closing Voltes V so I guess it helped. So that sunset shot na, ‘Rise Armstrong brothers, rise!’ I guess, that will the most memorable and most iconic for me.”

“Ah, wow, What a tough question!
“I guess what we planned to do we were… we’re happy at what we’ve accomplished. You know, we could, you know, nothing is perfect. So we could have improved on a lot of things and added more things to the story, but, of course, we have a limited time already.
“But for the bigger picture you know, it’s overwhelming that not only in the Philippines ang response for Voltes V: Legacy but globally.
“You know until now I still get reactions on my social media pages from outside the country, from Japan mostly, and then U.S. and other parts when they get to watch it in GMA Pinoy TV.
“So it’s very touching. I think the biggest achievement that we’ve done is that we said, ‘Hello world! GMA can do something like this and we’re proud of what we’ve done.'
