Ibinasura ng Office of the City Prosecutor ng Quezon City ang reklamong acts of lasciviousness at gender-based harassment na isinampa ng GMA News reporter na si Athena Imperial laban sa kapwa niya reporter at dating kasamahan na si Nico Waje.
Mismong ang asawa ni Nico na si Leinel Waje ang nagkumpirma nito sa GMA News noong August 17, 2026.

Ayon sa GMA News, ipinadala ni Leinel sa kanila ang kopya ng resolusyon kung saan inirekomenda ng prosekusyon na i-dismiss o ibasura ang reklamong isinampa laban kay Nico para sa acts of lasciviousness sa ilalim ng Article 336 ng Revised Penal Code.
Gayundin ang reklamo para sa paglabag sa Section 16(c), Article IV ng Republic Act No. 11313 o Safe Spaces Act.
"We are pleased that, after due proceedings, Mr. Waje has been fully vindicated of these charges.
"We are likewise grateful for the prompt and judicious resolution of the honorable public prosecutor.
"We remain hopeful that any other pending matters will be resolved accordingly," mababasa sa mensaheng ipinadala ng legal counsel ni Nico na si Atty. Leo Lalusis sa GMA News.
Nico files counter-affidavit in response to complaints filed by Athena
Noong June 19, pormal na nagsumite si Nico ng counter-affidavit bilang tugon sa mga reklamong isinampa sa kanya ni Athena.
Giit noon ng kampo ni Nico, wala silang anumang itinatago kaya handa silang harapin at sagutin ang lahat ng alegasyon ni Athena.
Bahagi rin ng kanilang depensa ang pagsusumite ng counter-affidavit upang pabulaanan ang mga paratang ng Miss Philippines Earth-Water 2011.

ATHENA FILES COMPLAINTS AGAINST NICO WAJE
Noong May 13, 2026, naghain si Athena ng reklamo laban kay Nico sa Office of the City Prosecutor ng Quezon City.
Kinumpirma ito ng legal counsel niyang si Atty. Aloi Renz Santos ng APS Law sa pamamagitan ng inilabas nitong statement.

Mababasa sa nasabing pahayag: “APS Law, through Atty. Aloi Renz P. Santos, confirms that Ms. Athena Mae D. Imperial-Rodriguez has filed the appropriate complaint before the proper authorities.
“This case is now before the proper forum. We will therefore allow the process to take its course and will not discuss the merits beyond what is necessary to protect our client’s rights.
“Ms. Imperial-Rodriguez comes forward not only for herself, but also as an advocate for those who cannot yet speak for themselves.
"She believes that incidents of this nature can no longer be ignored, minimized, or tolerated in any workplace, profession, or industry."

Ipinahiwatig din ng kampo ni Athena na may iba pang indibidwal na nagsampa ng hiwalay na reklamo laban kay Nico.
Samantala, habang isinusulat ang artikulong ito, wala pang pahayag o reaksiyon si Athena tungkol sa pagkaka-dismiss ng mga reklamong inihain niya laban kay Nico.
