Dingdong, Angel, Alden, Arjo, Gloria pararangalan sa 5th Film Ambassadors’ Night

Kabilang sina (clockwise) Alden Richards, Angel Locsin, Dingdong Dantes, and Gloria Romero sa 5th Film Ambassadors’ Night ng FDCP na gaganapin sa Pebrero 28.

Pararangalan sina Dingdong Dantes, Angel Locsin, Alden Richards, Arjo Atayde, at Gloria Romero sa 5th Film Ambassadors’ Night (FAN 2021) na gaganapin sa Pebrero 28, Linggo ng 8:00 p.m.

Online event ito na kaugnay sa pagdiriwang ng National Arts Month. Libreng mapapanood ang streaming nito sa FDCP Channel ng ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

Kabilang din sa 60 honorees at awardees sina Cristine Reyes, Ruby Ruiz, Elijah Canlas, Louise Abuel, Lovi Poe, Allen Dizon, Isabel Sandoval, Cherie Gil, Alfred Vargas, Angel Aquino, at Ronwaldo Martin.

Suportado ng Cultural Center of the Philippines ang FAN 2021. Makikibahagi rito ang resident symphony orchestra ng CCP na Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO).

Magpe-perform ang PPO sa production numbers katuwang sina Bamboo, Tres Marias (Bayang Barrios, Cooky Chua, at Lolita Carbon), Bituin Escalante, Beverly Salviejo, Karla Gutierrez, Lawrence Jatayna, at The Pogi Boys.

Kaabang-abang din ang natatanging bilang nina Ice Seguerra, Juris Fernandez, Princess Velasco, Sitti, Richard Poon, Kean Cipriano, at Duncan Ramos.

The FAN, an annual event spearheaded by the FDCP since 2017, recognizes Filipino film industry creatives, artists, filmmakers, and films of various formats that gained recognitions from established international film festivals and award-giving bodies in the past year.

Nagkamit ng Asian Star Prize sina Dingdong Dantes at Alden Richards sa Seoul International Drama Awards ng South Korea. Ito’y para para sa teleseryeng Descendants of the Sun (GMA Network) ni Dingdong, at para sa pelikulang Hello, Love, Goodbye (Star Cinema) kung saan katambal ni Alden si Kathryn Bernardo.

Best Actor si Arjo Atayde sa 3rd Asian Academy Creative Awards ng Singapore para sa iWant series na Bagman.

Nagtamo ng Best Performance Award ang mga bida ng pelikulang Kaputol na sina Cherie Gil, Alfred Vargas, Angel Aquino, at Ronwaldo Martin sa 4th Innuendo International Film Festival ng Milan, Italy.

Best Actor at Best Actress sina Allen Dizon at Lovi Poe, respectively, sa International Film Festival Manhattan ng USA para sa pelikula nilang Latay.

Best Actor si Elijah Canlas sa 17th Asian Film Festival ng Rome, Italy para sa pelikulang Kalel, 15.

Best Actor si Louise Abuel sa 18th Dhaka International Film Festival ng Bangladesh para sa pelikulang Edward.

Best Actress si Ruby Ruiz sa Harlem International Film Festival 2020 ng New York, USA, ganoon din sa 6th Herat International Women’s Film Festival ng Afghanistan para sa pelikulang Iska.

Best Actress si Cristine Reyes sa 40th Fantasporto (Oporto International Film Festival) ng Portugal para sa pelikulang Untrue.

Best Actress si Isabel Sandoval sa 18th Pacific Meridian International Film Festival ng Russia para sa pelikulang Lingua Franca.

Special segment ng FAN 2021 ang Cinemadvocates upang pagpugayan ang mga kampeon ng kapakanan ng film workers, at pagpapaunlad ng industriya.

Ang anim na FAN 2021 Cinemadvocates ay sina Dingdong Dantes, Angel Locsin, Pangasinan 4th District Representative Christopher “Toff” de Venecia, National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Chairman and Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) President Arsenio “Nick” Lizaso, Lockdown Cinema Club, at Inter-Guild Alliance.

Bagong citation din ang Gabay ng Industriya Award.

Tatanggap ang cinematography icon na si Romy Vitug ng Haligi ng Industriya Award, at pagkakalooban ang legendary actress na si Gloria Romero ng Ilaw ng Industriya Award.

Congratulations sa mga pararangalan!

Bukod sa mga ganitong ceremonial na pagtitipon, hinihintay rin ang posisyon ng FDCP sa kalituhan sa pagbubukas ng mga sinehan.

Naging tahimik ang FDCP tungkol sa pagsasara ng ABS-CBN, at ang muling pagtalakay ng prangkisa nito na dahilan ng pagkawala ng trabaho ng marami sa ating mga kasamahan sa industriya.

Nabalitaan din natin sa mga miyembro ng Inter-Guild Alliance na nag-sorry raw ang FDCP sa kawalan ng malawakang consultation sa guilds at ibang industry players na naging sanhi ng di pagkakaunawaan noon.

MARAHIL, tumututok na nga lang ito sa developmental work ng kanilang trabaho.

Sayang, kasabay itong FAN 2021 ng bagong date ng digital concert ni Ate Regine na Freedom. Makikibalita na lang ako sa makakapanood ng FAN 2021.

GORGY RULA

Marami pang pinaplano ang FDCP para sa ating movie industry, pero hindi pa rin malinaw kung magbubukas na ba ang mga sinehan sa Marso 1.

Sa aming pagtanung-tanong, marami pa rin ang kontra na magbukas na ang mga sinehan. Marami pa rin ang takot. Kaya digital movies pa rin ang karamihan.

Sana, may magagawa pa rito ang FDCP. Ang isa sa napag-usapan namin ni Madam Liza ay ang BL movies at series na pinupuri na rin sa ibang bansa.

Aalamin pa kung may plano ang FDCP para lalo pang magpursige ang producers na gumawa ng magagandang BL projects.

A-Listers pertain to those who bagged awards in prestigious A-List international film festivals as declared by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).

"Rafael Manuel was awarded the Berlinale Shorts Silver Bear Jury Prize for Filipiñana at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival in Germany. Lav Diaz won the Orizzonti Award for Best Director for Lahi, Hayop (Genus Pan) at the 77th Venice International Film Festival in Italy.

"The Camera Obscura Artistic Excellence Award is the highest citation awarded by the FDCP to trailblazers and legends in the industry. This year’s Camera Obscura awardees are Jun Juban of Philippine Film Studios, Inc., multi-awarded documentary Aswang by Alyx Arumpac, and former NCCA Commissioner Teddy Co.

"Juban’s Philippine Film Studios, Inc. has been a crucial figure in the country’s film and audiovisual industry, having produced and co-produced numerous films and audiovisual content, the most notable of which are Academy Award winners Born on the Fourth of July and Platoon by Oliver Stone, The Bourne Legacy by Tony Gilroy, Metro Manila Film Festival Best Picture 10,000 Hours by Bb. Joyce Bernal, and several editions of reality television programs The Amazing Race and Survivor.

"Arumpac’s Aswang took home the Fipresci Prize in the 2019 International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). The full-length documentary went on to win eight international awards in 2020, including Best International Feature-Length Documentary at Festival Film Dokumenter in Indonesia, Grand Prize-Best International Feature at the RIDM Montreal International Documentary Festival in Canada, Amnesty International Human Rights Award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece, and White Goose Award (Grand Prize) at the DMZ International Documentary Festival in South Korea.

"Teddy Co, a former NCCA Commissioner of the Arts and Head of National Committee on Cinema, is a director, curator, and archivist. He significantly helped in the repatriation and restoration of lost films by Manuel Conde, Gerardo de Leon, and Nonoy Marcelo, among others.

"He co-founded Cinema Rehiyon, which he continues to curate, and is a selection committee member for Cinemalaya, Cinema One Originals, and QCinema International Film Festival.

"The Feature Films category has six honorees: Sunshine Family by Kim Tai-Sik, Write About Love by Crisanto Aquino, Latay (Battered Husband) by Ralston Jover, Pan de Salawal by Che Espiritu, Lingua Franca by Isabel Sandoval, and John Denver Trending by Arden Rod Condez.

"The honorees in the Directors category are Maria Diane Ventura for Dein Fabre, Mallorie Ortega for The Girl Who Left Home, and Derick Cabrido for Clarita.

"The FAN has other categories such as Short Films, Documentaries, Creative Awards, and Special Citation. The two Special Citation recipients are veteran television and film director Luisito Lagdameo Ignacio, and the late filmmaker and International Film Festival Manhattan co-founder Gerry Balasta."
