Agot Isidro opened up about a vulnerable moment she recently had onstage: she forgot her lines.

The 58-year-old veteran actress issued a heartfelt apology for the lapse, which took place on July 12, 2025, during the staging of Dagitab, a theater production by Scene Change.

In an Instagram post shared the following day, Agot talked about what she called one of the most dreaded experiences for any actor.

“Actors are human beings. And like all humans, may hangganan ang kaya ng katawan,” she began.

“Last night, at our last run, I stopped midway through a line. My brain shut down. I couldn’t remember a word. Not a word.”

Agot had been performing in the play alongside co-actors Elijah Canlas, Benedix Ramos, Sam Samarita, and Jojit Lorenzo.

But during the finale, her body gave way to exhaustion, and her mind went blank onstage.

Shaken, she exited the scene early and went backstage, where she found comfort in Jojit, who was waiting for his cue.

“I walked out and threw my arms around Jojit who was waiting for his cue backstage. I couldn’t understand what just happened,” she related.

“The previous run wasn’t all good, too. I struggled through the last scenes. The very thing that every actor dreads was happening to me.”

While her vulnerability surprised fans, Agot chose not to shy away from the truth.

The incident, she said, was the result of compounded fatigue—having worked non-stop while managing a major move to a new home and navigating the usual pressures of everyday life.

“I can only surmise that it was fatigue. I have been working nonstop for more than two months, moving to a new house and the all too familiar daily stressors.”

She underlined: “This is not an excuse. I just overestimated my capacity as a workaholic, as nearing senior citizen, and as someone who takes the job too seriously.

“Nilalaban ng katawan ko, pero nag-decide na yung utak ko na tigil na.”

AGOT LAUDS PRODUCTION CREW

Despite her internal struggle, Agot was quick to express gratitude for the Dagitab team’s unwavering support.

She wrote: “Para sa mahal Kong Dagitab family (front and back), you were the best support system any artist could ask for.

“I’m sure it wasn’t easy for you to see this crumbling ashen ruined thing right before your eyes. I love you for looking out for me.

“The cast, @benedixramos , @samsamarita, @elijahcanlas, at kay @jojitlorenzo, na literal Kong naging asawa, who never left my side, mahal ko kayo.”

Agot also heaped praise on Scene Change, the production company behind Dagitab, for creating a safe, artist-first environment.

In an industry where expectations often outweigh empathy, she highlighted the company's brand of compassion.

“Para sa @sc.scenechange. I wish every actor will have the opportunity to work with you,” she expressed.

“The quality of work that you do is something to be proud of.

“But more than that, your humanity, compassion, and ethics as producers. You only had my well-being in mind.

“I love you all and my deepest gratitude for being so gracious and considerate.”

And to the audience, who had come to witness the team’s final bow, Agot offered a heartfelt apology for cutting the performance short:

“Para sa audience, I apologize. I apologize for leaving you hanging. I apologize that you didn’t get to see our work. Work that we are utterly proud of, work we enjoy doing, work that we are in love with.”

She ended her post with a consolation: “But… chill lang. babalik kami. Sabi nga ni Jimmy… ‘Issey, kung napapagod ka na, puwede naman magpahinga. Di mo kailangan umalis.’”
