Memorable para kay Sunshine Cruz ang taong 2022.
Sa naturang taon, nagkaroon ng katuparan ang hiling ng kanyang tatlong anak na sina Angelina, Sam, at Chesca na muling madugtungan ang tulay na nag-uugnay sa kanila ng amang si Cesar Montano.
Kaya naman tinapos nila ang taong 2022 na magkasama sa isang party sa hometown province ng actor-director, ang Bohol.
Sa isang Instagram post kahapon, January 1, 2023, sinabi ng aktres na grateful siya sa taong nagdaan.
Makikita sa video na masayang sinalubong nina Sunshine ang Bagong Taon kasama ang kanilang mga anak.

Naka-tag sa post ang tatlong anak na dalaga ni Sunshine, ang bagong partner ni Cesar na si Kath Angeles, si Diego Loyzaga, na anak ni Cesar kay Teresa Loyzaga, at Giselle Sanchez na nagsilbing host sa New Year countdown sa isang resort sa Bohol.
Positibo naman ang reaksiyon ni Teresa sa pagsasama ng ex-wife ng dating mister na si Sunshine at sa current partner nitong si Kath.

Sa isa pang post sa Instagram, nagpasalamat naman si Sunshine sa dating mister at kay Kath sa pag-organisa ng dinner para sa kanilang dalawang pamilya.
Saad nito sa caption, “Cesar and Kath, thanks for hosting tonight’s dinner. The girls and I had a wonderful time chatting and catching up with all of you.
“We’ve missed bohol and masaya kami na nakasama namin kayo dito sa New Year celebration. Happy to see my dive instructor Holger Horn too! Once again, Happy New Year everyone from our family to yours. #newyear2023”

Noong December 31, 2022, sinabi ni Sunshine sa isa pang Instagram post na wala na siyang masabi tungkol sa nagdaang taon kundi tanging kaligayahan.
Napunan na raw kasi ang mga panahong tila may kulang sa damdamin ng kanyang tatlong anak.
Sabi niya, “2022 has been memorable not just to me but my three girls too. They now have the piece that has been missing for years and I am genuinely happy for my princesses.
“They are good girls and they deserve the best in life. Love and forgiveness prevailed in our little family and that’s all that matters.
“I am always grateful to HIM for the blessings he has given me and my girls. Our family will never be perfect.
“We will for sure face more challenges and trials but I will choose this family over and over again.”
Hindi naman malinaw kung ang “heartaches” na tinutukoy niya sa isang bahagi ng post ay tungkol sa pag-ibig.
September 2022, pumutok ang balitang naghiwalay na si Sunshine at ang long-time boyfriend nitong si San Juan Councilor Macky Mathay.
