Today, August 14, 2024, Mark Andrew was captured in photos and videos as he cheered on his son and other athletes during the grand heroes' parade in Manila.

Along with thousands of onlookers, he waited patiently for the float carrying Carlos, who gained significant recognition for winning two gold medals in the men’s floor exercise and men’s vault events, respectively.

A banner reading "CALOY DITO PAPA MO" held by Mark’s friends drew widespread attention, helping the Olympic champion spot his father in the crowd.

The sight of Mark jubilantly raising his hands while being lifted by a companion, was a highlight for many.

CARLOS WRITES TO HIS PAPA MARK

Mark's efforts did not go unnoticed, as Carlos later took to social media to express his gratitude to his father.

NOOD KA MUNA!

It was initially thought that Carlos's family would not attend the grand heroes' homecoming after his grandfather, Rodrigo Frisco, expressed their uncertainty about participating.

"Oo, nakaplano din sana kami pumunta," Rodrigo said, explaining that they had originally intended to join the celebration.

However, he continued, "Napag-isip-isip din namin magmumukha kaming kawawa dun dahil hindi na kami pinasalubong sa pagdating niya. What more, kung diyan para lang kaming fans niya."

He expressed that they felt their presence might seem pitiful because they were not officially welcomed upon Carlos’s return and that attending might make them appear as mere spectators.

ANGELICA SEEKS FORGIVENESS FROM CARLOS

Carlos and his father may have gotten along well, but it is yet to be confirmed that he has already patched things up with his mother, Angelica Yulo.

After her tirades towards Carlos's girlfriend, Chloe San Jose, Angelica spoke to the press at Heroes’ Hotel located in San Andres Bukid, Manila, to publicly apologize to her son on August 7, 2024.

"Patawad, anak," she tearfully said.

Angelica concluded her statement with high hopes for a reconciliation at the end of the line.
