May nakapagsabi raw kasi noon kay Jericho na 24-years-old pa lang si Janine na labis niyang ikinagulat, kaya napadalawang-isip siya kung itutuloy niya ang panliligaw rito.
Sa edad daw kasi niya ngayon na 44, hindi na maisip ng aktor na makikipagrelasyon sa babaeng halos kalahati ng kanyang edad.

Saad ni Karen kay Jericho, "When I heard about it though [the dating news], I was so happy. Because I already interviewed Janine and she just has that beauty, that purity, that innocence, it just glows."
Dito na inamin ni Jericho ang pag-aalangan niya noon na i-date si Janine dahil sa malayong agwat ng edad nila.

Nawala naman ang pag-aalangan niya nang malaman na 34 years old na si Janine at sampung taon lang ang agwat nito sa kanya.
Aniya: "I agree with you on that, the purity part. So pure, I thought she was 24! EJ, my make-up artist said that she's 24.
"And I said, 'What?! Okay, bye,' Alam mo yun? Bye, I'm not dating a 24-year-old girl.
"I Google, Google, Google, Google [and found out she's 34] sabi ko, 'Oh, okay puwede pala. Puwede pa pala.'"

Jericho recalls His Work Meeting-Turned-First Date With Janine
Si Jericho at Janine ay parehong bida ngayon sa Kapamilya primetime series na Lavender Fields.
Dito gumaganap sila bilang mag-asawang Tyrone de Vera (Jericho) at Iris Buenavidez-de Vera (Janine).

Pagbabahagi ni Jericho, bukod sa ganda ni Janine ay nabighani rin daw siya sa ipinakitang ugali nito sa set ng kanilang serye.
Kaya naman dahil din sa kanilang proyekto ay nagkalakas-loob ang aktor na yayain si Janine na lumabas.
Pagbabalik-tanaw ni Jericho: "One day I had asked her, 'Would you like to do a script reading with me?'
"I'm sure she has her own version of the story. But why would I ask for a script reading? She's the only person I haven't worked with.
"She was going to be my work wife, my wife in the show. All of the decisions that my character was going to do in the show was because of the relationship that they have. This is not some easy working relationship. We needed to ano, so I said in my head: 'Oh, coffee! Script reading and coffee!"

Kuwento ni Jericho: "I brought my iPad and then we saw each other at a cafe.
"I brought my iPad out and she started laughing. She was like, ''Holy God, you have an iPad.' I said, 'Yes, this is a work meeting.'
"To cut the long story short, six hours later we never got to open the iPad. I was like, it ended up with like, Japanese food at 3:00 P.M. and then she went to her Lola Pilita Corrales and that's it.
"And I was, 'Wow, I can spend like, three hours talking to this girl...' That's when I felt something."

"She’s this type of person that, okay, a ‘no’ is a ‘no’ and a ‘yes’ is a ‘yes’ and she knows her decisions and she does it in a very smooth and soft, tender kind of way."
