Nananatiling buo ang tiwala ng TV host-comedian na si Vhong Navarro sa sistema ng hustisya sa bansa sa kabila ng mga naging hamon sa kanyang mahabang pakikipaglaban upang makamit ito.
Ito'y matapos maglabas ng desisyon ang Court of Appeals (CA) na nag-uutos sa pagpapalaya kina Deniece Cornejo at Cedric Lee, na nahatulan sa kasong serious illegal detention for ransom na isinampa ni Vhong laban sa kanila.

Kasama sa mga nahatulan ang mga kapwa akusado nina Deniece at Cedric na sina Simeon Raz at Ferdinand Guerrero, kaugnay ng insidente ng pag-set up at pambubugbog sa aktor noong January 22, 2014.

Sa ipinadalang pahayag ng kampo ni Vhong sa PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), sa pamamagitan ng legal counsel niyang si Atty. Alma Mallonga nitong Linggo, September 27, nagbigay sila ng reaksiyon sa napipintong paglaya nina Deniece at Cedric.
Mababasa rito: "Through all these years, Mr. Vhong Navarro chose to keep faith with the justice system in place in our country.
"He believed, then as now, that despite its shortcomings, truth would prevail and his long and difficult battle to correct the criminal wrong that was done to him would reach a just conclusion."

Naniniwala rin si Vhong na sa kabila ng mga pagkukulang ng sistema ng hustisya, mananaig ang katotohanan at magkakaroon ng makatarungang resolusyon ang kanyang matagal nang legal na laban.
Gayunman, nakahanda rin umano ang aktor na tanggapin ang magiging resulta ng proseso sa oras na tuluyan nang matapos ang lahat ng legal na hakbang.
"In keeping with that faith, he will continue to pursue all the remedies that are available to him.
"He is prepared to fully accept the result of that process when it finally ends," saad dito.
VHONG’S CAMP CLARIFIES DENIECE, CEDRIC’S DETENTION
Sa naturang pahayag, itinuwid din ng kampo ni Vhong ang impormasyong mula pa noong 2014 ay nakakulong na sina Deniece at Cedric, na sinasabing naging dahilan umano ng kautusan ng Court of Appeals para sa kanilang agarang pagpapalaya.

Ayon sa kampo ng aktor: "To set the record straight, it is not true that the accused have been detained since 2014, which is the reason the Court of Appeals had ordered their immediate release.
"But they have, in fact, been serving time in prison. Whether or not the period the accused have spent in incarceration is sufficient, considering the affirmance of their conviction, is a matter of law which everyone is bound to respect."
Dagdag pa rito: "Mr. Navarro shall continue to trust in the process and abide by whatever that requires."

Vhong’s decade-long legal battle AGAINST DENIECE, CEDRIC
Noong May 2024, nahatulan ng reclusion perpetua o pagkakakulong mula 30 hanggang 40 taon ng Branch 153 ng Taguig City Regional Trial Court sina Deniece, Cedric, Guerrero, at Raz matapos silang mapatunayang guilty sa kasong serious illegal detention for ransom.
Nangyari ito matapos mapatunayan ng korte na nagkasala sila sa kasong isinampa ni Vhong dahil sa insidente ng matinding pambubugbog sa kanya noong January 22, 2014, sa isang condominium building sa Bonifacio Global City.

Matapos ang conviction, ipinadala si Deniece sa Correctional Institute for Women sa Mandaluyong City, habang si Cedric naman ay nakulong sa New Bilibid Prison sa Muntinlupa City.
Sa desisyon noon ni Judge Mariam Biem, sinabi nito: "Cornejo lured Navarro to her condo unit so that her co-accused attained their purpose of restraining Navarro and later on extort money from Navarro before dropping the blotter.”

Guilty rin ang naging hatol sa grupo nina Cedric at Deniece sa kasong grave coercion na isinampa ni Vhong noong July 2018.

Bukod kay Vhong, patung-patong na kaso rin ang inihain sa kanya ng kampo ni Deniece.
Noong March 2023, ibinasura ng Supreme Court ang rape at acts of lasciviousness na isinampa ni Deniece laban kay Vhong.
Na-detain si Vhong sa loob ng halos tatlong buwan, mula September 19, 2022 hanggang December 6, 2022, makaraang muling panigan ng Court of Appeals ang nabasurang rape complaints ni Deniece sa kanya noong July 2022.
Boluntaryong sumuko si Vhong sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) noong September 19, 2022.

Bagamat non-bailable ang kasong rape na kinaharap noon niya, noong December 5, 2022, pinaboran ng korte ang petisyon ni Vhong sa dahilang kuwestiyonable ang kredibilidad ng complainant na si Deniece.
Pabagu-bago raw kasi ang salaysay ni Deniece sa insidenteng siya ay sekswal na inabuso raw ng It's Showtime host.
Nagkakahalaga ng PHP1M ang piyansang binayaran ni Vhong sa korte para sa kanyang pansamantalang paglaya.
