In 2015, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) released a list of stars who caused sudden changes in teleseryes.
That list included stars whose personal circumstances caused major changes in the storyline of teleseryes.

This time, PEP presents 15 actresses who became pregnant while doing important roles in TV shows.
Let us take a look at what happened to their characters when they became expectant moms.
On the last week of January 2017, Encantadia was airing plugs that a major character will die in the telefantasya when rumors started coming out that KYLIE PADILLA was pregnant.
It was even reported that her tummy-baring costume had to be adjusted because of her condition. On January 23, PEP broke the news that Kylie was already pregnant three months.
Kylie and Aljur gave an exclusive interview to PEP on January 26 to talk about the pregnancy and their engagement.
On January 27 (Friday), her character Amihan was killed in the series.
However, the following Monday, Amihan resurfaced in the telefantasya wearing a new costume that covered her tummy.
In the February 3 episode, Amihan was set to return to Devas, the place where dead Encantados go to rest. Viewers will have to wait and see if her character will still be seen in future episodes.
It was in September 2015 when BEAUTY GONZALES became the subject of pregnancy rumors. At the time, she was part of the top-rating daytime show Ningning.
Along with the pregnancy rumors, the talk was that her character would be killed off in the ABS-CBN series.
In the next episode, Beauty's character Lovely indeed died after a fall down the stairs. The actress kept silent about her condition.
Months later, Beauty posted her photo in Instagram showing her baby bump. Only then did she reveal that she was five months pregnant.
Beauty returned to showbiz and did two movies: The Achy Breaky Hearts and The Third Party. She is also set to star in a teleserye soon.
At the time PEP first reported that TONI GONZAGA was pregnant in 2016, people were expecting her to star in the teleserye Written In Our Stars with Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby.
The show was postponed because of her pregnancy.
This January, Toni finally went back to work after giving birth in September 2016.
She returned to her sitcom Home Sweetie Home, and resumed hosting duties on ASAP and Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7.
When PEP asked Piolo about Written In Our Stars, he said that he was still not sure if the series would push through.
ANGELIKA DELA CRUZ got pregnant with her second baby on April 2015. She confirmed this during the presscon of her series Healing Hearts, that was scheduled to air in May that year.
Since they had already taped most of the show's scenes in advance, the production team did not have any problems with her villain character.
Angelika quipped about her condition, “Mataba lang ako sa show.”
The Kapuso actress was able to finish Healing Hearts which ended on September 2015.
This is not the first time that Angelika completed her commitments to a show while pregnant. In 2008, Angelika was taping two shows when she got pregnant: Una Kang Naging Akin and Lalola.
In both shows, she was the main villain.
MARIAN RIVERA was supposed to topbill the LGBT-themed drama series The Rich Man's Daughter in 2015.
Cameras already started rolling for the series when Marian and Dingdong confirmed her pregnancy.
Marian was quoted saying that she was willing to finish the project where she would play the love interest of Glaiza de Castro.
However, Marian later decided to withdraw from the project due to her "delicate condition."
She was replaced by Rhian Ramos.
EMPRESS SCHUCK surprised everyone when she confirmed her pregnancy in April 2015.
She was still doing the afternoon show Kailan Ba Tama Ang Mali?, her first TV series on GMA-7 after her transfer from ABS-CBN.
Because of her condition, her character in the series was made pregnant.
There is no confirmation that the series was cut short when it ended in May 2015, since it completed a full-season run, or thirteen weeks of airing.
After taking a long break from doing TV shows, Empress returns to acting via an episode of Ipaglaban Mo with Rhed Bustamante and RK Bagatsing.
On March 2015, ABS-CBN announced that JUDY ANN SANTOS would work on the TV series Someone To Watch Over Me. However, two months later, the young superstar was reported pregnant.
In response, ABS-CBN's TV drama unit, Dreamscape Entertainment, released a statement saying it will not replace Judy Ann in the show. Instead, it will wait for her until she gives birth.
A year later, Juday sadly confirmed that the series was already shelved, saying, “Napaglipasan na ng panahon.”
In 2013, JOLINA MAGDANGAL was doing the TV series Mundo Mo'y Akin when she found out she was pregnant.
She left the show temporarily after she was advised by doctors to take a complete bed rest. Before the end of the series, Jolina returned to the show and stayed until its finale.
After giving birth, Jolina returned to her original home network, ABS-CBN.
SARAH LAHBATI faced controversy in January 2013 when she upped and left GMA Artist Center and said she was going back to Switzerland to study. The issue reached the courts.
The trouble started when she walked out of the set of Indio and refused to do flying scenes that required her to wear a harness.
Upon leaving the country, rumors spread that Sarah was pregnant, and boyfriend Richard Gutierrez, who had just had a tiff with the management of the same network, was the father of her child.
When she returned in July 2013, Sarah refused to answer questions about her rumored pregnancy.
In August 2013, PEP got a feed from an insider that Sarah had already given birth in April that year.
In June 2014, during the pilot episode of their cable reality show, It Takes Gutz To Be A Gutierrez, Sarah and Richard showed their son Zion for the first time.
Currently, Sarah is with ABS-CBN and performs regularly on ASAP.
In 2011, ANDI EIGENMANN was rumored to be pregnant. Her mom Jaclyn Jose confirmed this on TV Patrol.
At that time, Andi was busy doing the TV series Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, where she played the soldier Gabrielle Marcelo.
In the last three weeks of the show, Andi's character was killed off. At the time, Andi was already five months pregnant.
When she gave birth in November, Andi named her daughter Ellie, derived from the name of her character on the TV show.
Andi is currently one of the stars of the Kapamilya afternoon show, The Greatest Love.
REGINE VELASQUEZ was in the middle of her teleserye, I Heart U Pare, when reports appeared that she was pregnant with her first child with Ogie Alcasid.
In April 2011, without confirming her pregnancy, Regine announced on Party Pilipinas that Iza Calzado would be taking over her role as the drag queen Tonette.
Regine also said that she was advised by her doctor to take a rest after she began suffering "severe migraine attacks." Later, it was revealed that she was pregnant.
In 2016, Regine became active again in teleseryes. She will be part of the upcoming fantasy show Mulawin vs. Ravena.
DENISE LAUREL was a key player in the late night drama series Precious Hearts Romances presents Kristine in 2010.
When the series was about to enter book two, Denise's character Emerald Fortalejo flew to the United States but promised to return.
However, Denise did not return to the series until its finale, and her love team partner Rafael Rosell ended up with Iya Villania.
A year later, in 2011, Denise returned to television via Maalaala Mo Kaya. She revealed on The Buzz that she had given birth to a baby boy.
Currently, Denise is working on the Kapamilya series The Better Half.
JENNYLYN MERCADO shocked everyone in December 2007 when she revealed that she was six months pregnant with her child with boyfriend Patrick Garcia.
At the time, the actress was enjoying a flourishing showbiz career: she was finishing the suspense drama La Vendetta, and was set to topbill the afternoon series Sine Novela presents Maging Akin Ka Lamang (2008) with Patrick.
Because of her delicate condition, GMA replaced Jennylyn and Patrick with Nadine Samonte and Polo Ravales.
In the last two weeks of La Vendetta, Jennylyn's exposure as the ghost was decreased. Jean Garcia's character was killed off, and she became the new ghost in the series.
A year later, Jennylyn returned to show business. She is now set to topbill the much-anticipated remake of the Korean series My Love From The Star.
When JODI STA MARIA got married in 2005, she was playing the main villain Veronica in the fantasy series Kampanerang Kuba, starring Anne Curtis.
Months later, Jodi announced that she was pregnant with her first child by then husband Pampi Lacson.
Since her condition was delicate at the time, ABS-CBN replaced her with Desiree del Valle.
In line with the fantasy theme of the series, Jodi's Veronica character used magic to transform her face into Desiree's.
ANGELU DE LEON was at the height of her popularity with love-team partner Bobby Andrews when news broke that she was pregnant with a love child by action star Joko Diaz.
Because of her pregnancy, Angelu had to leave the top-rating show Growing Up.
For her last episode, Angelu's character Peachy was set to get married with Wacks (Bobby). But on the day of the wedding, she did not show up.
In a PEPTalk episode in 2015, Angelu revealed that she has not seen yet that episode of Growing Up.
She recalled thinking at the time: "Parang dumating yung choice na, ‘Do you wanna continue the pregnancy, or you wanna continue the show?’”
Now a GMA-7 actress, Angelu explained, “Para naman sa akin, I mean, not for anything, I’m not gonna judge anyone, but I cannot do an abortion."
After giving birth, Angelu de Leon successfully made a comeback in 2000 and is still active in showbiz.
In 2011, Angelu again had to leave another show: the afternoon series Sisid. At the time, she learned that she was pregnant with her third baby, this time by another partner.
