Ang pamangkin ni Susan Roces na si Lawrence “Wowie” Cruz ang unang nag-post ng balita sa Facebook kagabi tungkol sa pagpanaw ng 80-year-old actress na itinuturing na Reyna ng Pelikulang Pilipino.

Si Wowie ang panganay na anak ng nakababatang kapatid ni Susan, ang former actress na si Rosemarie Sonora, isa sa mga sikat na miyembro noon ng Stars ‘66 ng Sampaguita Pictures at dating asawa ng pumanaw na aktor na si Ricky Belmonte.
Matagal nang naninirahan (mula pa noong 1987) sa Amerika si Rosemarie. Bumabalik lamang siya sa Pilipinas para magbakasyon.
Si Wowie ang aming tinanong kung makakauwi ba ang kanyang ina para sa burol at libing ng kapatid nito.
“My mom is saddened with the passing of Mama Inday,” sagot ni Wowie.
Pero kinumpirma nitong hindi makakauwi ng Pilipinas ang nanay niya.
“She can't come home because her husband David [Loomis] is undergoing cancer treatment. He is the same age as Mama Inday.”
Dinaramdam nang husto ni Wowie ang pagkawala ni Roces at hindi rin niya malilimutan ang maliligayang araw na kapiling nila ang aktres na mga tunay na anak ang turing sa kanila ng kanyang mga kapatid na sina Sheryl at Patrick.
Ito ang unedited na mensahe ng pamamaalam ni Wowie para sa kanyang Mama Inday:
“I really have fun memories of my Mama Inday. She was a second mother to me. She really loved my jokes every time I make one. Even the funny things that I did personally we laugh about.
“She really was a fun person to be around with. We loved to eat make kwento about everything under the sun. She really thought me a lot of things about life. How to be a hard worker, always on time at work and meetings, be courteous, respect, polite, have patience and eat properly.
“I will really miss our chicahan Mama Inday. We really had a blast!!! You are my mentor in a lot of things and I will never forget your teachings to me.
“How I dream that we had more time together. So you would see what your pupil has become.
“I will really really miss you so very much Jesusa Purification Levy Sonora Poe [Susan Roces] I will see you again in the afterlife and we will continue our chicahan again. I love love love you with all my heart Mama Ind's!!! Rest now in Paradise!!!”
