Maggie Wilson reacts to immense backlash after Catriona Gray's Miss Universe 2018 win

Maggie Wilson to netizens about her opinion on Catriona Gray's Best in Swimsuit award in Binibining Pilipinas 2018: "It was an opinion, my choice of words were poor. That was my mistake."

Hanggang ngayon ay tila hindi pa rin nakakalimutan ng fans ni Catriona Gray ang hindi magandang komento noon nina Bb. Pilipinas-World 2007 Maggie Wilson at Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago sa bagong hirang na Miss Universe.

Noong Marso 2018, naghayag ng kanyang pagkamangha si Bea Rose dahil sa pagkapanalo ni Catriona ng Best in Swimsuit sa Binibining Pilipinas.

Samantala, komento naman ni Maggie: "Huh, best in swimsuit? Paano? I mean, pretty face but definitely not the best body out there."

Naging viral ang mga komentong ito nina Bea Rose at Maggie, at na-bash sila nang husto ng netizens.

Kahapon, December 17, sa pamamagitan ng kanyang Instagram Stories, binati kaagad ni Maggie si Catriona matapos itong hiranging Miss Universe 2018.

Matapos nito, nag-post ng saloobin si Maggie tungkol sa pamba-bash na nararanasan niya hanggang ngayon.

Bahagi ng kanyang mahabang post: "Today, I kept changing my settings here on IG because of the immense backlash I’ve been getting over something I said 9 months ago.

"I have made mistakes but have learnt and made peace with them and I refuse to be vilified by them.

"Your mistakes aren’t what defines you but it is how you behave and learn from them after you’ve committed one.

"The one thing constant in life is change, I find comfort in that.

"I’ve learnt and have chosen to be more understanding of the world around me.

"To be more sensitive towards people and my surroundings."

Patuloy pa ni Maggie, "With that said, I’ve switched my comments back on but I will no longer tolerate negativity and hate on any of my social media pages.

"There is enough of it going around already.

"If any of you decide to continue with the anger, mockery and negativity then you are no better.

"I truly wish you find happiness and peace.

"And just incase no one has told YOU yet, YOU are blessed, loved, appreciated and yes, YOU matter."
