GirlTrends has always been trending, though, usually, not for the right reasons.
The all-female dance group now known as GT has been surrounded by controversy through the years. Remember their out-of-sync dance performance back in 2019?
Founded on February 13, 2016, GT is composed of former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemates and young actresses. It was formally introduced on ABS-CBN's noontime show It's Showtime.
Members have come and gone—at one time, they were comprised of 22 members, but they were down to 7 members by 2019.
Let's take a look at all the members of GT, past and present.
Mikee Agustin
One of the longtime members of GT, Mikee has kept a relatively low profile. She gave birth to her first child, a son named Zyph, in late 2020 with long-time partner, dancer Yexel Sebastian.
Loisa Andalio
Loisa is one of the more successful ones from the group.
She is currently paired with actor Ronnie Alonte, and they have done several films and TV series together.
She was recently one of the leads in the TV mini-series Unloving U.
This year, she is set to star in two TV series: The Goodbye Girl and Love in 40 Days.
Dawn Chang
Dawn is currently a vlogger and a baker, running her online bakery store, DC Delights (@dcdelightscookies).
She quit GT in 2019, following issues with her co-members.
Just recently, Dawn got into a controversy involving her statements about Toni Gonzaga. She was "deeply insulted by the actions" of the host who publicly declared support for the politicians who junked the ABS-CBN franchise.
But Dawn's statement escalated into a word war but not with Toni but with veteran columnist and radio host Cristy Fermin, who defended the latter by saying that Dawn only achieved success because she is "nakikipaglandian sa mga boss."
Dawn's lawyer asked for a public apology from Cristy.
Cristy demanded a public apology from Dawn's lawyer as well.
For the 36-year-old Kapamilya's part, she still is awaiting Cristy's proof of her alleged "pakikipaglandian" with ABS-CBN executives.
Kelley Day
Kelley won first runner-up in the Miss Eco International 2020 pageant. She is also a GMA-7 actress, and her most recent TV appearance was in the TV series The World Between Us.
Just recently, she was tagged as a third-party in the Tom Rodriguez-Carla Abellana breakup issue. which she vehemently denied.
Jane de Leon
Jane got the much-coveted title role in the TV series Darna, which was originally supposed to be a film project of Star Cinema. She appeared in ABS-CBN's longest-running series, FPJ's Ang Probinsyano before preparing for her role in Darna.
Chienna Filomeno
Chienna, or Chie for short, is one of the last seven members of the group.
She and Dawn have not been on speaking terms since 2019.
Dawn left the group in August 2019.
Two months later, while guesting as a judge on It's Showtime, Dawn told a contestant, "Hindi tayo puwedeng puro aura," a comment which main host Vice Ganda felt was taking a jab at GT.
In October 2019, Chie said in an interview that she and Dawn will never go back to being friends "kasi grabe na yung lamat na nalagay so I'd rather not be plastic about it."
Careerwise, Chie has been busy.
After leaving Bahay ni Kuya on November 20, 2021, she was launched as the 2022 calendar of Ginebra San Miguel.
She is also going to be part of the upcoming teleserye Love in 40 Days.
Kamille Filoteo
One of the few who led a private life after leaving GT, Kamille has two children: Aneeka (from a previous relationship), whom she gave birth to when she was 16 years old, and Dylan, her son with her current partner.
Nikki Gonzales (Lexi Gonzales)
Nikki, who now goes by the name Lexi Gonzales, joined GMA-7's Starstruck Season 7 in 2019, but lost to Kim de Leon and Shayne Sava.
She became a Kapuso mainstay and appeared in several projects, most recently in GMA-7's Tadhana.
Joana Hipolito
Joana is one of the last seven members of the group. Her most recent film project was the 2019 film The Mall, The Merrier.
She is currently one of the owners of the restaurant Percie's.
Barbie Imperial
Barbie Imperial is one of the more successful actresses from the group, having starred in several TV and film projects.
She was last seen in the film, Dulo, opposite her ex-boyfriend Diego Loyzaga.
The latter part of 2021 was quite tumultuous for the mestiza actress, who confronted AJ Raval for not clarifying the rumor about Diego's supposed visit to Pampanga, where AJ lives.
In her interview with Boy Abunda, Barbie lashed out, "Hindi ka gusto ng boyfriend ko."
AJ eventually denied being courted by Diego.
Barbie and Diego happily celebrated their first anniversary on December 11, 2021.
But in February 2022, Barbie confirmed her breakup with Diego.
Mica Javier
One of the last seven members, Mica is now the wife of R&B singer Jay-R.
She regularly uploads vlogs on her YouTube channel and is scheduled to have a concert in Las Vegas, titled Love Out Loud, together with Jay-R.
Leyana Magat
Leyana took a hiatus from Philippine showbiz after GirlTrends. Based on her Instagram account, she is now based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Jessica Marasigan
Jessica continued her beauty pageant journey after GirlTrends.
After she became first runner-up in Miss Philippines Earth 2017, she joined Binibining Pilipinas 2019, where she made it to the Top 15.
She is currently in a relationship with Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Michael DiGregorio.
Miho Nishida
After Miho's stint in showbiz, she went back to Japan, where she is a citizen, during the pandemic.
According to her ABS-CBN interview, she now works in an aesthetic salon.
She also found love in the country, and described her partner as "ordinary na tao, non-showbiz po at ang work niya ay businessman."
Erin Ocampo
Erin has been with GMA-7 since 2019. She was most recently seen in the network's teleserye, The World Between Us.
She is currently in a relationship with basketball player Henry Iloka.
Before this, she was one of the ladies tagged as the "third party" in the split of Kylie Padilla and Aljur Abrenica, whom she had worked with in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.
Riva Quenery
Riva has turned into vlogging after her stint with GirlTrends.
In October 2021, she gave birth to a baby girl with partner and co-vlogger Vern Flores Ong.
Maris Racal
Maris is now a singer-songwriter, and a mainstay of ABS-CBN's Sunday noontime show ASAP Natin 'To.
She is currently in a relationship with singer, songwriter, and record producer Rico Blanco.
Karen Reyes
After GirlTrends, Karen took a hiatus.
In 2020, she admitted to becoming a mother of two at the age of 23.
Her partner Sarkie Sarangay of the band Silent Sanctuary is the father of her two children.
Her last teleserye was Asintado (2018), appeared in several Maalaala Mo Kaya episodes in 2021.
Sammie Rimando
Sammie was one of the last and longest-running members of GT from 2016 to 2020. Her last TV appearance was in ABS-CBN's The Killer Bride.
In 2020, she was linked to Hashtag member Ryle Santiago.
Maika Rivera
Maika had several television appearances after GirlTrends. Her most recent projects were Init sa Magdamag and FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.
In 2021, just like Erin, she was linked to the Kylie Padilla-Aljur Abrenica breakup. She denied the allegations.
Devon Seron
Devon was one of the members who transferred to GMA-7 after the group's breakup. She got into a relationship with Kiko Estrada that lasted for three years, but they broke up in 2021.
She had several projects in GMA-7, the most recent being the drama series Paano ang Pangako?
KRISSHA VIAJE
Krissha recently started vlogging on YouTube.
Her latest project on television was Di Na Muli, a TV5 series top-billed by Julia Barretto that aired from September to December 2021.
She joined ABS-CBN's Idol Philippines in 2019.
