When TV5 was establishing itself as the Kapatid network, its executives decided to sign up big-name artists with the station. That was in the year 2010.
However, as years passed by, the network decided to reinvent itself. It reduced the production of drama shows to focus on comedy shows. The daily shows dwindled to weekly offerings until finally, the entertainment programs were completely scrapped.
This 2017, TV5 decided to focus on sports programs.
This prompted their contract artists—including the homegrown ones—to look for other opportunities in rival networks ABS-CBN and GMA-7.

A lot of people were surprised by the Megastar's decision, especially since she still had two years to fulfill with the Kapatid network, as stipulated in her contract.
TV5 and Sharon parted ways amicably, since the network still supported Sharon even though she chose not to complete her contract.
In March 2015, after seven months of dropping hints about her next endeavor, Sharon finally signed a contract with ABS-CBN.
