AlDub dominates 100 most-read breaking news of 2015

2015 turned out to be full of surprises!

Who would have thought the second half would give rise to a phenomenal tandem that will break records on social media and in the TV ratings, not to mention, conquer the world of endorsements and even the annual Metro Manila Film Festival?

No doubt, the biggest stories this year had been about AlDub, aka Alden Richards and Yaya Dub or Maine Mendoza.

Out of the 100 most-read news items—based on the January 1 to December 23, 2015 data of Google Analytics, which tracks and reports website traffic—34 of which had something to do with them.

And out of 34, eight items were solely about Alden, making him the guy with the most number of most-read interviews.

Next to him were Willie Revillame, Kris Aquino, Vice Ganda—who are known for their quotable quotes—and KC Concepcion, whose love life seems to be of great interest to PEPsters. Each one of them had four items in the list.

TALK OF THE TOWN. Meanwhile, the second hottest topic was the four-year-old feud of Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista.

Readers were also affected by the untimely demise of Julia Buencamino, the daughter of Noni and Shamaine.

Breakups and the drunken incident on the plane involving Enrique Gil were the third most talked-about topics.

But guess the latest addition to this year’s Most-Read list?

It was neither about Pia Wurtzbach winning the Miss Universe crown nor the way her victory was announced by Steve Harvey, but Miss Germany 2015 Sarah-Lorraine Riek’s interview that caught the attention (and the ire) of many Filipinos.

In a nutshell, 2015 would be leaving with three life lessons.

First, look forward to tomorrow.

Second, love today—most especially, the people that matter to you.

Third, there is such thing called…tamang panahon!
